Why is MSM ignoring Rolling Stone Story?

Unlike in 2004, the Main $tream Media is ignoring provocative new questions about Sen. McCain's military background raised by a meticulously researched 12,000 word piece in Rolling Stone magazine.

Why are they ignoring the story? At least one Congressional Quarterly columnist says that the Democrat's lack of a talk radio echo chamber leaves them at a disadvantage when pushing a story like this. Well, we'll just have to see about that. We do have a blogosphere. And it's time we swarmed on this story folks. All the evidence of how John McCain is a fake, all wrapped up in one nice neat package.

"Forget 'Country First' sloganeering," says former GOP Sen. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, "McCain is putting himself first. He's putting himself first in blinking neon lights."

READ THE ROLLING STONE ARTICLE!!!!!!!

Nick,

THANK YOU for posting the link to the article! That is the most stunning piece of political journalism I've ever read. The way the article systematically dismantles every last scrap of credibility John McCain ever held is truly breathtaking.

"At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt."

Several callers mentioned it on Stephanie Miller this week

Dave in Columbus
On WVKO 1580 AM. And I would bet it got mentioned on Rachel Maddow, Thom Hartmann, and other WVKO programs. I gave up on the main-steno-pool media long ago. (The last straw was Katie Couric's news segment on "The brighter side of global warming.") WVKO is the only progressive station in the state. Make it your own "main stream media" and spread the word, and support its local sponsors. If we want a real media in America, we have to create it.

Rachel Maddow's MSNBC show

Dave, I don't get a chance to see Rachel Maddow's MSNBC show on television much because of time conflicts, but I watch every single online clip I can find on msnbc.com's politics page, which I believe is almost, if not all of the show. And I do not recall seeing her touting the article to this point, though I may be mistaken. As an aside, that woman is BRILLIANT!
