Wanna Guess How Robert Portman Celebrated HCR Passing?

David Potts - Posted on 25 March 2010

The day after healthcare reform passed, I took things easy. I largely ignored politics for a much needed break, though I did watch John Boehner shout “Hell no you can’t” a few times for posterity.

Republican Senate candidate Robert Portman, on the other hand, decided to spend some time with friends. Only instead of “spend some time” I mean hold a top dollar fundraiser” and by “friends” I mean pharmaceutical lobbyists.

Yes, the very next afternoon Report Portman had a fundraiser in New York City hosted by the GlaxoSmithKline Political Action Committee. Donation to attend? One thousand dollars.

For: Rob Portman (R, OH)
Hosted by: GlaxoSmithKline Political Action Committee
When: 2010-03-22 (12:30 p.m.)
Where: Bobby Van's Grill - 1201 New York Ave NW 809 15th Street, NW
Type of Event: Fundraising Lunch
Contribution Information: $1,000
RSVP: Chris Timmerman; 202-347-4071; rsvp@pearson-associates.com

In an amazing coincidence, the news that Portman was joining the repeal healthcare reform bandwagon came out the day after Portman was at this fundraiser.

to go to www.victoryforcourage.com and join in today's money bomb for Jennifer Brunner. She's the one with the best shot by far at keeping this clown out of the Senate. Do you want to be "represented" by Portman for the next six years?
Let's work together to retire Ken Blackwell from politics
