Tim Ryan Takes An Active Role In Twitter Account

In recent days, US Representative John Culberson (R-TX) has been getting some attention for his use of Twitter on the House floor.

For those who aren't familiar with Twitter, it would probably be best described as web based group text messaging. Twitter users can update their status through the web and text or instant messages and it's sent out their friends.

Not to be outdone, Ohio's own Tim Ryan (D) is getting in on the action. Ryan has apparently had a Twitter account for some time, but has now taken a more active role in updating it.

These two congressional twitterers promptly got into an argument about ANWR.

Culberson: Around July 1 - and they won't let us vote to open up domestic oil fields like ANWR and offshore and shale oil

Ryan: @johnculberson ANWR would, after 20 years, reduce gas by only 2 cents a gallon. That's not an energy plan

Culberson: @timryan I am glad we are having this high tech debate Tim - what is your source for this factoid? It is far too small to be believable

For the record, here's the answer to that last question.

Most entertaining...

waste of time I've ever encountered.  Thanks for posting this!  My favorite back and forth now:

Royblunt: Dems ask Americans to subsidize unemployment for more than 6 months to individuals who have worked 10 days http://tinyurl.com/5orgpj

Tim Ryan:   @royblunt @johnculberson If it hadn't been for Bush's failed economic policies, maybe they would have been able to work longer than 10 days from web in reply to RoyBlunt

Absolutely fabulous.
