You probably know from experience that health care premiums have been growing much faster than paychecks, but the numbers are still stunning.

Since 2000, wages in Ohio:  Up 8.9%

Since 2000, health care premiums in Ohio:  Up 76.4%

This is from a new report from Families USA.  Next time you hear any Republican credit the Bush administration for increasing wages, keep that stat in mind. 

McCain's solution?  You can't make this stuff up -- these are McCain's own words:

Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.  

That's right -- he wants to deregulate healthcare like we deregulated banking.  How's that one working out?
