Things To Take Away From Filing Day

It was filing day for state candidates once  again, and there’s some promising news to be had.

First off, Strickland edged out Kasich with $1.4 million to $1.28 million. Sure that may not seem like huge margin, but Plunderbund points out Kasich received significant help from Citizens United and the Summit County Republican Party.

In the Treasurer’s race, Mandel really underperformed. This cuts Boyce some slack, but that have got to pick it up if they want to compete.

Cordray outperformed DeWine, and half of DeWine’s money came from ORP. Tell me, does this seem like a man who really wants to run a campaign?

And finally, the consensus seems to be that the Ohio Republican Party may be starting to pull the plug on the Auditor’s race. Yost underperformed, and the ORP cut back on their bailout donation. Pepper, who’s been running around the state like Speedy Gonzales continued to pull in a respectable haul by himself.
