The Next Two Weeks...Then Ohio Bound.

Look folks. While we're sorting out what last night means, where we're at in the delegate count, and what the hell is going on, it's easy to forget that the contest will be to Ohio in less than 30 days. Less than 30 days you'll be voting for our nominee. Not a lot of time there.

Things could very well be decided on March 4th in Ohio and Texas, or things may move past Ohio into February and Pennsylvania. We shall see. The one thing that is certain is that in 3 days we've got another primary (Louisiana) and a slew of other states in the next two weeks. The media narrative out of all this will impact Ohio tremendously. So...what's at bat?

Feb. 9th  Louisiana  56 Pledged

Feb. 9th  Nebraska (caucus)  24 Pledged

Feb. 9th  Washington (caucus) 78 Pledged

Feb. 9th  Virgin Islands 3 Pledged

Feb. 10th Maine (caucus) 24 Pledged

Feb. 12th D.C. 15 Pledged

Feb. 12th Maryland 70 Pledged

Feb. 12th Virginia 83 Pledged

Feb. 19th Hawaii (caucus) 20 Pledged

Feb. 19th Wisconsin 74 Pledged

Then we make the Ohio/Texas showdown. I haven't even tried to track down polling on these states yet, but I'd expect Obama to do well in Louisiana, DC, and Hawaii. The real contentious contests will most likely be in Virginia and Maryland where fights may break down to geographic locations, demographics, and party leadership (for example, Governor O'Malley and members of the Mayland Democratic Party have taken active support for Hillary, while many folks in the grassroots and younger politicians are supporting Obama). Surprise wins in Maryland or Virginia could have a tremendous impact in Ohio. Likewise, if any one candidate strongarms Feb. 9th or Feb. 12th contests, expect to see that have an impact on Ohio as well.

Also, as mentioned last night, the new Obama Ohio campaign manager has boots on the ground in the Buckeye State (starting yesterday). Paul Tewes lead the successful Iowa campaign and is one of Obama's top generals. His assignment to Ohio shows the campaign is ready for a tough fight here, and that they're committing some of their strongest talent to the state to try and fight Clinton's institutional support (and couteract the Governor's impact). Expect a long, hard fight. I've yet to find out who'll be leading up team Clinton (if you know, give me a heads up).

Also, I've been informed the Obama campaign will be opening campaign offices across the state by week's end. The Cleveland office may actually be up and running by the end of the day today. Stay tuned, because we're getting swarmed as a state starting TODAY, and I'll be breaking stuff as it comes in.
