The Detailed Situation In The 93rd House District

David Potts - Posted on 20 October 2009

Following up on Modern’s post earlier, it’s time to check back in on another at risk State House district. Specifically the 93rd, which is currently held by Secretary of State candidate Jennifer Garrison.

Last time around I was incredibly vague because the potential candidates and local party officials were being careful not to have these names spread around. That really hasn’t changed much, but I think more than enough time has passed for these potential candidates to debate how committed they are to running.

Therefore, here are the three possible Democratic contenders:

  • Guernsey County Sheriff Michael R. McCauley
  • Marietta Mayor Michael Mullen
  • Washington County Commissioner Cora Marshall

It would be a pretty big leap to call him the frontrunner based on this, but McCauley is the one if heard the most talk about.

There are two Republicans from Marietta mentioned as possible candidates, but only Councilman Andy Thompson has expressed interest so far.
