What will thier registering people and all, there might be hundreds of phoney registrations and of course they'll vote for thier own . . .
Let's get real, if there is any stealing of elections going on, it will be done by the people who just got $700 Million handed to them with no strings attached. . . that buys a whole lot of democracy, huh?!
Poor people and homeless americans voting, even if they fraudulently vote hundreds of times, are not scaring me from seeing who's really pulling strings, or firing US attorneys becuase they aren't prosecuting "vote fraud" good enough to satisfy Karl Rove.

I don't know about being a huge threat to democracy, but they certainly aren't helping like they COULD BE. And they certainly aren't for the issues as they represent.....It is about MONEY.
I have been in organizations that have competed with bids for business with A.C.O.R.N. and their bids usually come in only a little less than others AND THEY PAY THEIR PETITION CIRCULATORS 1/2 as much, supervisors aren't paid that well either. An A.C.O.R.N. office is right across street from one of my clients (an African American) and he constantly complains about how A.C.O.R.N. petition circulators lie to his constituents and patrons to his office.
It is about money, plain and simple. They pay the people doing the work peanuts, set difficult if not impossible incentive goals, to do a difficult and thankless job.
It is about money...not issues.
So, What Is The Payoff?

In return for their support, what is it that ACORN expects from a potential Obama presidency? Legislation favorable to their cause, or financial "support" for their organization?
Obama contends he was not affiliated with the group. Fine. Will he be willing to rebuke their calls for favoritism? I think any quid pro quo could prove very damaging to his reign.

Newsnight investigative reporter Greg Palast travels from the Native pueblos of New Mexico to the war-zone of the 8 Mile neighborhood of Detroit to meet some of the three million voters who have been disappeared by a GOP campaign draining voter rolls of the victims of the economic collapse.
In Detroit, Palast is bounced out of the local McCain headquarters - housed under the black flag (literally) of foreclosure profiteers. We meet Robert Pratt, a union worker, who fears he will lose his home - and his vote. Are the Republicans turning a economic devastation into an electoral bonanza?
BBC Reporter Palast follows the path of investigation laid out by civil rights attorney Robert F. Kennedy Jr. - encountering along the way the Republican Party lawyers, funders - and Karl Rove. The GOP charges that the Democrats have registered five million fraudulent voters, a claim backed by a recent US government report. Palast meets the report's author - who claims her words were turned upside down. And they went to court to stop her from speaking out.
Democrats don't have clean hands either, as Palast discloses: from the Acoma Pueblo, we find Natives (almost all Democrats) who've had their ballots illegally junked by local Democrats.
But whichever party attacks the poor, it's McCain that's the winner.
Newsnight is the British Broadcasting Corporation's premier current affairs show. Broadcast earlier this week in London, it exposed the story of the mass purge of voters in Colorado, re-reported in the New York Times.
The show will be repeated 8am Eastern on Sunday.

ACORN offices RAIDED or Reformation of Martin Luther
of course some in Blog-landia think A.C.O.R.N. is without blame but anyone that has canvased a neighborhood behind A.C.O.R.N. knows differently. Working behind A.C.O.R.N. campaign is difficult or next to impossible when 7 people are registered to vacant crack houses...interviewing the neighbors only leads you to the TRUTH that "people haven't lived there in years" but the BOE shows they voted in the last election. As a democrat...working in the field, it is dissapointing to see such tactics used. FRAUD, reported, who knows what was done....maybe nothing!
What can be expected when A.C.O.R.N. pays PER SIGNATURE and PER REGISTRATION? It is about the money...not the issues.
50 cards were found in Cuyahoga BOE, those were only what they FOUND without a DOUBT....not including ones they SUSPECTED but can't prove (So says my contact at the BOE)

The Nevada office of ACORN had planned a potluck dinner at its Las Vegas office Tuesday night to celebrate the 80,000 newly registered voters its staff had signed up in Clark County as part of its work with low-income communities nationwide.
Instead, their office was raided Tuesday morning by agents of the Nevada Secretary of State and Attorney General who alleged in an application for a search warrant that ACORN had hired 59 felons through a work release program as canvassers and submitted nearly 300 apparently fraudulent voter registration cards as part of the drive.
The submitted voter cards included addresses and names that do not exist in Nevada, duplicate registrations, names culled from telephone books and names of Dallas Cowboys players, an investigator for the Secretary of State alleged in his affidavit for a search warrant.
One ex-employee of ACORN reached by the state investigator told him she began making up names for her forms on days when it was too hot to work outside. ACORN canvassers are paid by the hour. Ex-employees also said they were expected to collect 20 complete forms a shift or risk probation and termination, the investigator said in his affidavit.
The search drove ACORN and its critics to exchange charges of political maneuvering in a battleground state that voted Republican in the 2004 presidential election but is considered in play for November. Mail-in voter registration closed Saturday in Nevada.
Agents removed 20 boxes of documents and eight computer hard drives from the ACORN office in "an ongoing investigation," said Secretary of State Ross Miller, a Democrat. "Now we begin the task of sifting through the material that was seized to determine how widespread any fraud might be."
No arrests were made yesterday and no ACORN staff were in the office during the raid.
