Hillary Lied Her Way Through Ohio on NAFTA

Now that Hillary Clinton's White House schedules have finally been released, it has become clear that she lied big-time to the voters of Ohio. Clinton's views on NAFTA were a centerpiece of  her recent campaign in Ohio, called Obama a liar for suggesting that she had ever supported NAFTA during her time in the White House. Senator Clinton delivered her angry "shame on you, Barack Obama" rant because Obama had reminded the voters that Clinton had supported the North American Free Trade Agreement and that the treaty had decimated industries the US. Â

ABC News reports that, as First Lady, on November 10, 1993 - 51 days before the treaty would take effect - Clinton had actively promoted NAFTA, a fact revealed in the release today of 11,000+ pages of White House schedules for that era:

Two attendees of that closed-door briefing, neither of whom are affiliated with any campaign, describe that event for ABC News. It was a room full of women involved in international trade. David Gergen served as a sort of master of ceremonies as various women members of the Cabinet talked up NAFTA, which had yet to pass Congress.

"It wasn’t a drop-by it was organized around her participation," said one attendee. "Her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA and what a good thing it would be for the economy. There was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time. "

How does it feel to be lied to so explicitly Ohio? Please remind your neighbors in Pennsylvania and Indiana of her deceitful tactics, before they fall for the Clinton BS machine. There ought to be some accountability here.

Lonely Saturday Nights In Naugle-Land

Promoted from the forums. Funny stuff Peter. -Jerid

Cross posted at Progress Ohio:

Over the weekend, Matt Naugle of Right Angle Blog posted a funny, if totally misleading, video about the ridiculous Pelosi plane controversy. It was a satire of VH1's show "Fabulous Life." Now anyone who knows me knows that I love a good youtube moment (see my work with Deborah Pryce's campaign staff), but I can't help taking a swipe at him for this one.

We don't really need to relive the story, but for anyone who doesn't know it was a pretty stupid thing for the righties to get inflamed about. Basically it happened like this: since 9/11, the military provides extra security for the Speaker including a plane for use on official business. The plane Hastert used didn't have the fuel capacity to reach San Franciso, so the House sergeant-at-arms asked for one that could make the whole trip. The righties blew up, and the rest is history. If you really need to read more click here.

Anyways if you take a close look at Naugle's post, you make an interesting observation:

Submitted by Matthew on February 10, 2007 - 8:26pm. Tags: Democrat Corruption

Apparently Saturday nights are a little lonely in Naugle-land.

GillmorBlog.com is up and running!!!!

Congressman Paul Gillmor (R - Old FOrt, but really Dublin) has started his own blog. I can hardly contain my excitement!

St. Paul announces his moderated blog as follows:

Blogging Across Ohio Filed under: All Posts, Telecommunications, Keeping in Touch, Your Democracy — Paul Gillmor
at 12:49 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2006
I just sent out a press release unveiling my blog to anyone who hasn’t visited my website in a while. It turns out that I am one of only a handful of Members of Congress using blogs to communicate with their constituents and the only Ohioan using an official blog to outline the work of Congress.

Blogs are new to me. But I enjoy the chance to post stories and articles about the issues which matter to the district. Technology has come so far over the years and I want to ensure that each person in the district has every means possible to communicate with me and stay informed about the government.

The blog is a good compliment to the outreach my office does every year. As I have throughout my career, I will continue to stay in touch with the views of the district through my regular public meetings, plant tours, and by speaking with organizations across the Fifth District.

Politics is about people and I love talking directly with the district. If you don’t like speaking with people and telling them your views or how you plan to vote, you probably shouldn’t be in politics.

From the WTF files

Wow...losing his cash cow made our friend Scott Pullins go off the deep end. I just put all my money into Prozac stocks.

New GOP Voter Suppression Plot - Britney Files for Divorce
We Republicans have come up with a fiendish, last minute plan to suppress Democrat voter turnout. Yes, it took awhile but we were finally able to get to Britney Spears and persuade her to file for divorce from K-Fed aka K-Gravy Train Over.

Millions of Democrats, weeping for the end of this marriage made in heaven, will be unable to drag themselves away from the E-Channel, put on their Birkenstocks and go vote. Thank you Karl Rove for another fiendish plot successfully hatched.

They Are Not Resting.

From the US Chamber of Commerce.  Some trial lawyers accidentally got on their list.
Chamber Gears Up for Elections, Lame Duck Session
The U.S. Chamber is kicking its election efforts into high gear and preparing to make an aggressive push for pro-business legislation in the brief lame duck session beginning November 13.

As part of its successful VoteForBusiness program, the Chamber is making 10 million to 15 million voter education phone calls and mailings to both the general public and members of the Chamber Federation. More than 100 Chamber staffers are fanning out around the country to engage in voter education activities in key congressional districts.

During the lame duck session, the Chamber will try to move legislation repealing the death tax, extending approximately two dozen expired business tax credits, making the Bush tax cuts permanent, and increasing domestic production of energy and greater conservation, among other things. For a more comprehensive look at the Chamber's policy priorities, visit:
http://www.uschamber.com/issues/priorities/

Free Get-Out-the-Vote Kits Available
The U.S. Chamber has produced a new and free Get-Out-the-Vote (GOTV) kit geared to small business owners to help them engage their employees in the political process. The kits include envelope stuffers, bumper stickers, and a poster for the workplace. If your company would like to partner with the Chamber on its GOTV program, please call 202-463-5604, e-mail vote@uschamber.com, or visit:
http://www.voteforbusiness.com/employer_toolkit

Scott Pullins endorses tax dollars going to al Qaeda, anti-Amway/Quixtar blogger claims

Mount Vernon attorney Scott Pullins joined by BizzyBlog's Tom Blumer, Lincoln Logs' Matt Cole, NixGuyDave and rest of State of Ohio Blogger Alliance in supporting tax dollars for Osama's followers

COLUMBUS--A liberal blogger whose focus has been on the politicians backed by direct sales company Amway and its North American reincarnation, Quixtar, says the nasty behavior by Ohio's conservative bloggers such as Mount Vernon attorney Scott Pullins is a smokescreen for their support of Federal tax money going to al Qaeda operatives in Iraq.

"Scott Pullins and his blog buddies are showing their support for al Qaeda by just how low they can go in their smear tactics," said MLM Liberal blogger Sean Gilbow. "They're trying to hide the fact the candidates they endorse have, in one way or another, put our tax money in the hands of al Qaeda.

"These are the bloggers who oppose taxation in general, and they repeatedly say the Democrats, regardless of what office they run for, are going to raise taxes. After I heard about what's happening with some of our tax dollars in Iraq, and how the politicians these neocons put into office made this all possible, I consider Scott Pullins to be the leader of the Ohio equivalent of al Qaeda."

Gilbow cited comments from a report released by U.S. Senator Carl Levin on his trip to Iraq earlier this month:

In our visit to al-Anbar province, we learned that, unlike elsewhere in Iraq where sectarian violence is the biggest threat, the insurgency, which is increasingly dominated and led by al Qaeda, is the main threat. Our Marine leadership in al Anbar advises that 30 percent of all contracts, including U.S. Government let contracts paid for with U.S. taxpayer dollars, goes to al Qaeda.

Levin is a Senator from Michigan, home to Amway/Quixtar and its parent company Alticor. And private contractors in Iraq have become an issue in the race for Governor as former Amway President Dick DeVos is running on the Republican ticket. DeVos' brother-in law, Erik Prince, is CEO and co-founder of Blackwater, one of the companies receiving government contracts to aid in Iraq's reconstruction.

Gilbow blames bloggers such as Pullins, BizzyBlog's Tom Blumer, Matt Cole of Lincoln Logs and NixGuy Dave for supporting terrorists on another front: the U.S.-Mexican border.

"They are pro-cheap labor, regardless of what spin they may place on the illegal immigrant issue, and more illegal immigrants mean more cheap labor," said Gilbow, who himself is a member of the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association. "In the process, these bloggers have given the welcome mat to Hezbollah."

Gilbow, who has worked with employees of Ohio Homeland Security during his nearly 10 years with the Ohio Department of Public Safety, cited a report released by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The 40-page report included results of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which documented how members of Hezbollah and other Middle Eastern terrorists were able to enter the U.S. from Mexico.

The MLM Liberal blog has received media attention in a roundabout way over the past two weeks. While neither the blog nor Gilbow were mentioned by name, a posting on the blog was mentioned in a front page article in Monday's Wall Street Journal on William Kerr, the conservative blogger from Oklahoma City who "outed" a former Congressional page in the center of the Mark Foley scandal.

The posting was a photo of Kerr's son Brandon, which the Journal says was an attempt to spook Kerr. Gilbow cited his comments underneath Brandon's photo as proof to the contrary:

I work with some of the state's best investigators and officers. What William Kerr did in one fell swoop was jeopardize the work of these investigators, along with those on the local level, who are determined to find child sexual predators and get them off our streets...Now, thanks to William Kerr, no child is as safe as he or she was yesterday. Not even his own flesh and blood.

The Journal story came just days after MLM Liberal was cited by the conservative World Net Daily for calling Scott Pullins' postings on Ohio Congressman Ted Strickland "Swift Boating tactics." However, the WND piece linked to a follow-up of the original posting, which linked Pullins to the 2004 suicide of Brandon Ratliff, an Afghan war veteran who returned home to discover his promotion with the Columbus Health Department was taken away.

Pullins' Ohio Taxpayers Association ran a barrage of commercials which Gilbow calls "deceitful." The commercials aired in 2002 to get voters to turn down Issue 18, a $4-per-day car rental tax which would have averted the budget cuts made by the City of Columbus--cuts which resulted in a "bumped" city employee getting the position which was originally to go to Ratliff. He took his own life as the City of Columbus was investigating the loss of his promotion.

Gilbow emphasized he has generally been careful with his comments on MLM Liberal, including his statements about Pullins, but he said the postings by Pullins and BizzyBlog's Tom Blumer justify him getting, to quote liberal talk-show host Ed Schultz, "down in the mud with the pigs."

After the final gubernatorial candidate debate between Democrat Strickland and Republican Ken Blackwell, Gilbow said a quick Google search showed where Blackwell read about the 1999 resolution on which Strickland's vote resulted in, according to Blackwell, a standing ovation from the North American Man/Boy Love Association: Tom Blumer at BizzyBlog.

Gilbow posted Blumer's photo with these comments: "There is no doubt Blackwell's comments were based on what he read at BizzyBlog. Now, thanks to Ken Blackwell, Tom Blumer is linked to the National Man-Boy Love Association."

But Gilbow has left his choicest comments for Scott Pullins, especially after learning he followed the lead of William Kerr. In comments he left at Buckeye State Blog, Gilbow said:

"Scott Pullins has done something even more despicable by releasing the name and address of the victim of a sex crime which occurred when she was 13...Upon reading this, I'd be more than happy (please pardon the sarcasm) to post a picture of his daughter Alaina."

Gilbow said his focus on politicians backed with campaign money from Amway/Quixtar has not changed. Case in point: A posting yesterday citing figures from OhioMoneyTree.com which indicate Ken Blackwell's campaign coffers received more than $770,000 from the corporation, co-founder Rich DeVos and son Dick.

"Let's not forget that Ken Blackwell headed the Bush-Cheney Ohio campaign in 2004. And I won't let anyone forget his role in making me a second-class citizen," said the openly gay Gilbow, who cited Blackwell's involvement while Secretary of State in the campaign to get passed Ohio's Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.

"Just Cheney's longstanding connection with Halliburton is enough for me to start posting photos of bin Laden right beside Ken Blackwell in future blog postings. Same goes for Dick DeVos and his dad," Gilbow said. "Thanks to what Senator Levin found out, we now know how much they have shown support for al Qaeda. And no sex scandal is going to stand in the way of this message getting out the voters.

"And just as bad for Ken Blackwell as his being linked to al Qaeda will be that he is, without question, the Amway candidate."

MLM Liberal blogger Sean Gilbow with talk show host Stephanie Miller during her 2005 appearance in Columbus.

Rove helping local politicans

The local newsrag contained an interesting story today on Rove http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?ID=310164&r=0&Category=9
seems the great pretender has been practicing on our local wannabes. I hope someone remembers Canton Ohio when it comes time to spend money on local municipalities. Good old Canton,Ohio home of Timken, Diebold and Hoover. Please remember the rest of Stark County. Alliance and Massillon when it comes time to help the real people. We have historically backed the Democratic ticket and always will. Of the thousands of jobs lost in Ohio I'll bet that we have a good part of that total.

Has old skinhead Rove worked your city too. Did he do this from his Westwing office.

Merle Haggard is on our side!

If you haven't had the opportunity, please take the time to visit www.merlehaggard.com and view his latest video about rebuilding America first.  His video is extremely compelling and hard-hitting, and hopefully Mr. Haggard will receive more respect from the country music establishment than the Dixie Chicks!

This HAS to be big when a Hall of Famer like Merle Haggard says enough is enough.  (No word yet if Toby Keith has badmouthed the Okie from Muskogee...stay tuned.)

Infamous "Naked Photographer" Was Lawyer for the Ohio House Republican Caucus

From the AP:

'"Naked Photographer" unfit to be a lawyer

The man called the "naked photographer" because he ambushed women while he was nude and took pictures of their shocked expressions should have his law license suspended indefinitely, an Ohio Supreme Court panel has recommended.

Stephen Linnen, 35, wouldn't be able to practice law for at least two years and would have to prove he was mentally and morally fit before he could work as an attorney again, the court panel that recommends disciplinary action for lawyers said Thursday.

The Supreme Court will make a final ruling.

Linnen pleaded guilty in 2004 to 53 misdemeanor counts and served a year in jail. Authorities say he took pictures of 38 women over 18 months, before his identity was discovered in late 2003.

At the time, Linnen was working as a lawyer for the Ohio House Republican caucus.

Oh boy, there go those darn Republicans again . . . what will we find them and their "Family Values" up to next?
