Memorial Day Donor Bomb - Bill O'Neill Wins! Please Donate.

Promoted from the forums --David

Thanks to an outpouring of support from blogs like this one, Bill O'Neill has won Election Inspection's Memorial Day Donor Bomb contest. Now here's the hard part - we need you all to do three things:

1. Donate to Bill O'Neill.
2. If you are on DailyKos, Recommend this diary - and Elliot might be posting one later in the day if this doesn't make the recommended list.
3. Tell anyone you can about this effort, and provide links on online forums.

Steve LaTourette is scum - he cheated on his wife with his chief of staff, who became a lobbyist, who LaTourette then remarried after getting a divorce. So he's literally in bed with a lobbyist, and she suddenly got all sorts of new clients. For example, she represents the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority, while he's the ranking member on the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime, a part of the Transportation and Infrastructure committee. This isn't why the GOP removed him as chair of the Ethics committee, of course - they simply didn't like his toothless admonishment (with no penalties) of Tom Delay. LaTourette quickly fell in line after that.

Bill O'Neill is a Vietnam veteran who received a Bronze Star - that's patriotism that no flag pin can match. He's also been a civil rights lawyer, a small businessman, and a union organizer - a man who understands the economic challenges faced by Ohioans who've felt the brunt of the Bush Economy. Today, he's a judge - a man of integrity who can be trusted to make sure that no man, even the President of the United States, is above the law.

Support Bill O'Neill for Ohio's 14th congressional district!

Learn more about Bill O'Neill.

ONCE AGAIN BUSH/LATOURETTE TEAM BETRAYS TROOPS...If you are wounded we want our money back

Promoted because I'm always excited to hear what Bill O'Neil has to say -Jerid

This will take your breath away. Apparently the Draft Dodger In Chief has once again found a new and creative way to abuse the greatest Army in the world.

As we all know, the Army offers generous sign-on bonuses to get poor kids to go off and defend us all. This a good idea, and we should all be thankful that someone is willing to pick up a weapon and defend our way of life. The problem is not the soldiers, its the leaders.

But did you know that if the soldier gets his legs blown off in combat, the US Government, led by the Draft Dodger in Chief with the support of his lapdogs in Congress...ASKS FOR THE MONEY BACK????

I say again. The government is demanding the bonus money back from wounded soldiers. This came directly from a family member in harm's way...third tour of course. I have verified it and it is sadly true.

Well help is on the way.

A bipartisan bill (H.R. 3793), sponsored by Rep. Jason Altmire (D-Pa.) with more than 200 cosponsors would mandate the practice be terminated immediately.

Which leaves us with one obvious question. Why is Congressman Steve LaTourette's name not one of the 200 sponsors?

Oh that's right. That would require crossing his pal Bush.

Bill Oneill

www.oneill08.com

OH-14 Congressman LaTourette following Judge Oneill

Promoted cause we always like to hear from our Congressional candidates. -Jerid

Now here is an interesting twist of events. The Chagrin Valley Times reports that the sleepy little village of Chagrin Falls Ohio, population 4000, has a "new" resident. The Congressman from Concord, Madison and Washington DC has apparently decided to once again pick up stakes and move...and that of all the communities in a seven county area where he could buy a house to run for re-election from...he has chosen Bainbridge Township on the outskirts of Chagrin Falls...MY HOMETOWN!!!!!!. Actually I live in South Russell which adjoins Chagrin and shares the school system. I've been here for 22 years and raised 4 kids here...well, I guess one more Republican won't hurt the home values. Hmmmm.

Now I don't mind running against this guy...but the thought of seeing him at breakfast in downtown Chagrin is unsettling at best!!!! Bill

W and Scooter In Seperate Rooms Please

Bill Oneill's got no problem letting us know where he stands on Libby's Commuted sentence. It's a shame some of our Reps don't take Bill's lead. -Jerid

I can't get through reading the Plain Dealer without feeling my blood pressure rising. Now we have the President of the United States, the man who clearly does not believe in the rule of law, toying with the judiciary as if it was just one more forum he can ignore. A trial, conviction, sentencing...and then clemency. This is an outrage.

Thought for the day. When George Bush leaves in 2008...make sure he takes all his friends with him.

Bill Oneill

www.oneill08.com

LaTourette Sides With Dems

Promoted, with comment, to the front page. -Jerid

Steve LaTourette (R-14th) joined nine other Republicans to vote for passage of the Employee Free Choice Act today.

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll118.xml

Thought it deserved mention.

Democrats Have Consciences

Ohio's Secretary of State has recently decided to change the stickers voters receive at the polls from the traditional "I Voted Today!" to "I Voted Today -- Change our World. Vote Your Conscience." This change has met controversy and has garnered significant national attention. Many have assumed that this sticker has significant religious overtones, which might be true, and that it therefore favors the Republicans in the upcoming election.

However, I disagree. I hope that people vote their consciences and I would expect nothing less from patriotic Americans. I believe that when Americans vote their consciences this November, they will vote to raise the minimum wage to recognize the inherent dignity of hard work; they will vote to expand health care coverage to make it affordable to every American; and they will vote to send the corrupt legislators in Washington packing. When Americans vote their consciences in November, they will vote Democrat.

Lew Katz

www.katzforcongress.com
