<title>Stephanie Tubbs Jones kicks off campaign in style!</title>
 <link>http://www.buckeyestateblog.com/node/146</link>
<description>I spent this morning over at Tizzano&#039;s Party Center in Euclid where Stephanie Tubbs Jones kicked off her campaign to retain her congressional seat in district 11. Obviously this is not going to be one of the more disputed races. She does have a Republican opponent named Lindsey String but no one seems to know anything about him and I can&#039;t find a website or anything.

Anyway, pretty much every politician in Cuyahoga County seems to have showed up. She invited all the officeholders to come up and be introduced which took forever beause I think every judge in the county was there, plus mayors (including Frank Jackson), state reps and senators, some local councilpersons etc etc. Then she introduced all those running for office. Hugh Quill was there working the room hard and so was Subodh Chandra. Both spoke briefly and as is becoming routine, Chandra managed to make the most of his short time and really grab people&#039;s ears. Barbara Sykes was also there and I talked to her briefly. She seems poised, well-spoken and very focused on what an auditor needs to do. I asked her about her residency dust-up and she said she thinks it&#039;s a non-issue. We&#039;ll see. She can always use &quot;1/1,000,000 less corrupt than Betty Montgomery&quot; as her campaign slogan.

Dennis Kucinich and his wife showed up toward the end of the event, after the presentation when everyone was schmoozing, but they opened the mic to introduce him.

Sherrod Brown sent a representative from his campaign whose name I can&#039;t recall. Someone gave me a Brown bumper sticker which I guess I will auction off on eBay. I did get some nice emery boards from the Judge John D. Sutula campaign though; I can always use those. It seems like most of my emery boards come from people running for office!</description>
