Stalking for unsaintly Patrick

Congressman Patrick Tiberi, the GOP veteran in OH-12 and Dem Challenger Paula Brooks both appeared in Dublin’s Irish parade today in early celebration of St. Paddy’s Day. But Congressman Patrick was not all that saintly.  

While Paula walked the rainy parade route, Tiberi rode safe and dry in a large, gas-guzzling sedan.  And he assigned at least one campaign shutterbug to tail Brooks, according to eyewitnesses. When Paula stopped at curbside to greet a woman who was snapping her picture, Brooks shook her hand and inquired, “Hi , I’m Paula Brooks. Is that your house back there?”  The woman, obviously embarrassed and taken aback, hemmed and hawed and finally said, “Uh… no, I’m Kristin Frisfora, campaign manager for Pat Tiberi.”  Unflapped, Brooks called over HER campaign manager Patrick Brown to introduce him, saying cheerfully, “Patrick, meet Kristin, Pat Tiberi’s campaign manager.  She’s out here taking pictures of me, isn’t that nice?”

There was no sign of a Tiberi campaign TV crew trailing Brooks today.   The Tiberi-Brooks race  made the DCCC’s national “Red to Blue” target list just last Wednesday , so maybe it’s a little too early for that kind of serious GOP stalking.
