So Far, So Good in Cuyahoga County?
With the shit show in Columbus, the fact that Cuyahoga County is operating under a completely new governance structure sometimes gets overlooked. Other than the Pee Dee's incessant pimping of GOP Tea Party favorite County Councilman Dave Greenspan, I'd dare say it's been so far, so good with the new government and with the new county executive, Ed FitzGerald. PolitiFact Ohio introduced a Fitz-o-Meter to go along with its Kasich-o-Meter to track promises kept or broken. This perhaps underscores the fact that FitzGerald, as the sole executive authority in Ohio's most populous county, is probably the second most influential leader in the state. Certainly no GOPer in Columbus will be able to out-do Kasich's bombass. Does this make FitzGerald a candidate for 2014 statewide office? I haven't heard any noise about that, but we shall see.
I haven't seen the other progressive blogs in Ohio pay a lot of attention to this, so what does everyone think? So far, so good?
