Senate Republicans Remove Minority Business Provisions

The Republican controlled Ohio State Senate has removed key provisions benefitting African-American businesses from the biennial state budget.  The House version included language that would expand the state’s Minority Set Aside program and hold State Agencies accountable for meeting spending goals with Minority-Owned Businesses.  The Senate changes represent millions of dollars in potential spending removed from the African-American Community.

The budget now moves to the Conference Committee where the health and sustainability of OUR businesses will be determined.  We must decide now whether we will sit on the sidelines or ACT NOW to determine the future of Minority Businesses.
