Say What, Lee?
Lt. Governor Lee Fisher put his foot in his mouth up to about the knee today when he left the door open for Ohio to sell Lake Erie water to drought-stricken states in the desert southwest at a speech yesterday in Toledo. H/T the Plain Dealer for catching it cuz the Dispatch did not.
Lee is now feverently trying to clean up his mess, since such a sale of water would be in violation of the Great Lakes Water Compact currently under consideration in the General Assembly. The Compact would require the unanimous consent of all eight Great Lakes U.S. governors, plus the two Canadian governors, for any diversions of Great Lakes water outside the Great Lakes basin. The Great Lakes Compact has bipartisan support, and for good reason, as the fast growing southwestern states of Arizona and Nevada are running out of water from the drought-parched Colorado River.
Lee better mop up this mess fast if he's to preserve his 2010 U.S. Senate chances.

Adding some jobs as
Adding some jobs as "Director of Development" might help him too.
But yeah, no question he is going to try and use his current position to springboard to a Senate run. Someone like Fisher is not content with being Lt. Gov.
