[Rumor:] Guv may have "Trumped" Dann

Tells him it's over.   (See, UPDATE II) :(

I've got a very reliable source who tells me he's heard that the Governor's office may have privately called for Dann's resignation.

Now I'm getting this third-hand, so I'm waiting for some primary sourcing.  However, my source rates the rumor as an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being on the low end of reliability) on reliability, and he's been very reliable in past, so it's questionable.

God, I hope it's true.

"Marc Dann, you're fired."

[UPDATE]:  Russo has a lil' nugget of his own to add to this.  Supposedly, Dann's wife is opposed to his resignation.  I've heard this story before-- Elliot Spitzer ring a bell? 

[UPDATE II]:  I just got off the phone with someone that I'd expect to have knowledge about it in the party, and that person told me this has been a Statehouse rumor for some time, but that it's simply not happened.  An unqualified denial on the story. 

Still hoping that it happens, though.
