Remember John McCain And The Suspended Campaign?

David Potts - Posted on 23 February 2010

Remember way back during the ‘08 presidential election when John McCain “suspended” his campaign to focus on passing the economic stimulus package?

Well now he’s telling conservative activists that he was misled about the bill.

So I guess that means either.

A.) McCain was easily misled into making the single biggest decision of his campaign (always a great leadership quality).

or

B.) McCain is lying to shift the blame on others (also a great leadership quality).

And I used to have some respect for this guy, way back when he still thought torture was a crime.

because the responsibility for using the funds were moved from Congress to the Treasury. Congress (including McCain) didn't do their job. Now there's talk of using the funds returned to TARP for other purposes.

It's bad law.
