Registered GOPer Interrupts Obama Town Hall in Berea Today

Blogger Interrupted has the video, but I thought I'd mention that it was a REGISTERED GOP'er named John Quinn that interrupted the Obama Town Hall in Berea today to demand that Obama recite the pledge of allegiance with his hand over his heart. Not only did Obama (and the entire audience) do that, but he invited the heckler up to the stage to help lead the procession in the pledge.

Here's BI's video

And, here's Mr. Quinn's voter reg info: Name: QUINN, JOHN G Address: 7524 ACKLEY RD PARMA, OH 44129 Date of Birth: 1962 VOTER INFORMATION Party Affiliation: REPUBLICAN

Why did you post his address?

Why did you post his address?

The Man Obviously Wanted Attention

So let him have it...

Shame on you

David,

Didn't you personally voice opposition when some posted the address of a previous blog editor? Now you're supporting the same thing?

Nick D., might I suggest you visit some conservative blogs and post your address?

I don't agree with what this man did. This type of anti-campaigning by either side is what drives many people away from politics and what fans the flames of radicals on both sides. Hopefully both candidates will come to their senses quickly.

Not Accurate

They posted his mother's phone number, not his. There's a huge difference there.

Wait a second..

This guy is saying the pledge of allegiance with HIS BACK TURNED TOWARDS THE FLAG!!!! What a terrorist-appeasing, America-hating, non-Christian liberal loonie!

?

Where did he get that press badge from?

Douchebag Post...

This is pretty lame, posting the name and address of a political protester. What's worse is the description of of the protester as a REGISTERED REPUBLICAN. If you had any sense, you would recognize that being a "registered" republican in Ohio simply means he voted in a primary election. Hardly worth mentioning. Over the years, this blog has gone from respectable to shit to somewhat respectable to shit again. So much for the principles of journalism.

Ha ha .....

It is hard to use the word "blog" and "journalism" in the same sentence.

Personally, I don't see what is wrong with wanting to say the pledge.

I suspect Obama wanted the man to lead it because he doesn't know it by heart.

Luckily Hillary isn't out of the race yet....

The "douchbag" part of this post is referring to extremists, left-wing, nutjob, democrats like "BI" as if it is legitimate press.

Just because groups cry, yell, moan the loudest, in an attempt to force their "forward thinking" extreme, personal opinions on us, does not mean they represent middle America and what the majority of Democrat Americans want.

Unlike Others

To answer CowTownGirl and Randy, I posted just enough of his information to make my point: that this heckler was in fact a registered Republican. Can you imagine the right-wing histornics if a registered Democrat similarly interrupted a McCain event? Unlike other Ohio blogs, I refrained from posting his phone number and e-mail address to avoid putting this man in the position to get crank calls and spam e-mails. And voter reg info is public information, BTW.

Nice. Should We Post Your Address, Nick?

How about your employer's phone number? Then we can all call your office/cubicle/cave for a bit of political chat. I bet your boss would love that.

Ah, don't worry. Relax. I wouldn't do that to you. I'm not the sort to be consumed by political vindictiveness.

Hey! It looks like you scrubbed a few posts from this thread! My RSS feeder shows two posts that aren't there. Wow. I wonder if this post will get scrubbed.

Paddle faster, Nick. I hear banjo music.

Banned Poster

Tudorman, two posts made by a banned poster were removed from this thread in accordance with BSB's terms of service.

As I said in a previous comment, all I posted in my article was enough information to prove my point that the heckler was in fact a registered GOPer.

Other Ohio blogs did in fact post this guy's e-mail address and phone number (Plunderbund and Blogger Interrupted to be specific), but I refrained from that because I'm not consumed by political vindictiveness, either.

And as for Buchnan County, if you study a little bit about the Klu Klux Klan, you'll find that they do in fact thrive in poor, white areas with poor educational systems.  Just ask the Southern Poverty Law Center. I didn't say that I had specific knowledge of activities in Buchnan County, only that its demographics fit a model where there usually happens to be Klan activitiy.

Fair Enough On The Scrubbed Posts

I still think posting Quinn's address was unnecessary. It would have been sufficient to say you verified it and maybe give the city he lived in.

I know enough about the KKK to understand who is their target audience. But the way you said it in your original post was akin to me insinuating East Cleveland was a hotbed for the Black Panthers, because 97% of its residents are black. It was inflammatory and added nothing to your post.

TOS - Where are they? I can't find a link on the site. It's always good to know the rules of engagement.

You Convinced Me

Tell you what, Tudorman, I'll go back and redact my comments about the Klan from the original post. Fair?

David was developing the TOS but I'm not sure if he has posted them yet...I'll check with him tonight.

Great

Although I was all set to nail you on it if they voted for Obama. But I'll holster my weapon.

I still think it will be interesting to see how they shake out.

Edit - Since I'm feelin' the love here in NEO, I'll apologize for the ass comment in my Ayers/Obama post. I lined it out. Now excuse me before I get all sentimental and start crying.
