Ohioans File Election Complaints Against Pro-Hillary "ALP" 527

Just in from my mailbox. Former Ohio Attorney General candidate and Barack Obama delegate-elect Subodh Chandra has filed an election complaint - representing Ohioans outraged at alleged illegal presidential campaign activities - against the pro-Hillary Clinton 527 the American Leadership Project. The ALP has promised to dump millions of dollars into the Ohio media market to sway the state for Clinton.

In a letter to FEC General Counsel Thomasenia Duncan, Subodh notes that the Ohioans bringing the complaint are:

"All of extremely modest means who are supporters of Senate Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primary - are deeply distressed that The American Leadership Project, according to published reports, apparently was formed to provide illegal support for Senator Clinton's financially distressed candidacy. For the reasons explained in the complaint, the Complainants respectfully request an expedited investigation..."

The complaint alleges the ALP is in violation Federal FEC guidelines by failing to register as a political committee and limit their donations. Furthermore, the complaint not only goes after the ALP, but is worded so that it includes in any current or future donors in the complaint.

Bringing the suit are Michael Seng, a disable woman from Streetsboro, Ohio who has contributed $10 to Obama,  J. Edward Lupto, a laborer from Streetsboro who has contributed $25 to Obama, and Emerylde Bradley, a retired small-business owner from Streetsboro who has contributed  $25 to Obama. None of the respondents are officially conntected to the Obama for America campaign.

The complaint is available here. I'll have more regarding its legal arguments later today.

This is getting stupid folks

Let's file a complaint before the group actually does anything - sounds like they are trying to suppress supporters of HRC. And what about the attempt to infringe on someone's 1st amendment right of association. Just because the people running the thing are "former" Clinton staffers doesn't automatically mean the group will violate the law. Forming a 527 isn't illegal. In 2006 the top 527 was run by the SEIU and the Atlantic article talked about the SEIU running ads in support of Edwards in Iowa. This whole nastiness on both sides is starting to piss me off and may cause me not to vote on March 4th.

527s

suck. They make true the principle of "some speech is freer than others." In other words, I'm not rich; I can give my candidate $20, let alone the $2300 individual limit. Richer folks can give $100,000 via a 527. Because they're rich, they can do more "free speech." Totally un-American.

FINALLY - SOMEONE IS POLICING CORRUPTION

We all know Clintons fight dirty - they honed their alley rat fighting techniques in Arkansas. You hear them repeatedly say "I'm going to fight ... I'm ready to fight" ... etc. They have enough people in their pocket due to real and false promises, past favors, knowing Washington's dirty secrets - whatever - so when times get tough, they can pull out those "owned" (or 'leased') people to do their dirty work. This is how Hillary managed to stay just barely under the criminal radar for so many years, along side her lying, cheating, slick husband. Just research the many, many "Clinton scandals".

Now they are strapped for cash and they are pulling this. Just like the current legal proceedings in L.A. court RE: the Peter Paul Hollywood extravaganza that financed her senatorial candidacy where she later denied knowing him or anything about his $1million plus contribution - Link Here ... she will disavow any doings with the newly formed "American Leadership Project".

It's shameful to call this 527 money laundering agency "American Leadership"! You bring shame and hypocrisy to our flag, our name and our constitution. This is old Washington at its worst - dirty, corrupt, win-at-all-costs.

We are mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more! That kind of corruption is the very political mindset we want to CHANGE! It is just one of the important contributions Barack Obama has already begun in Illinois, and will carry with him to the White House. I salute the courageous Ohio people and others who are not bought and paid for by the Clintons, and who are now putting a stop to their evil ways. Bravo! Our prayers are with you!

BRINGING ETHICS BACK TO POLITICS
OH, YES - OBAMA '08 - !SI SE PUEDE!

Corrupt?

If you call a person corrupt by eating from the corporate trough.  You could hear the slurping in '07 when he sucked in the money. Now Obama knows they need paybacks. He is already talking about nuclear as green technology.  Shocking. Thats his payback to Chicago Exelon. He will Let them put a nuclear power plant in Illinois. Wasn't that Cheney's idea too. You guys and gals are not listening.

His money comes from small donors, right, the small donor is in his house.  Michelle makes $317,000. gave $399. in 2007.

Don't you just shake your head when he is asking young people to give up their lunch money, entertainment money, etc. so he can struct? Look up donors.

Average Donation

The average donation to the Obama campaign seems to be about $140. He got a portion of my entertainment money because it seems more important to me to fund this than to go to the movies. My choice.

What's wrong with calling a nuclear reactor green energy? There are arguments on both sides. If you really feel passionatley about that, make that argument.

I Agree With : "Finally- Someone Is Policing Corruption"

Medals to you Din Sea, I totally agree! Also, the Clinton's want to rake in more hispanic and other minority votes again in Texas by relying on Bill Clinton's record rather than Hillary's - that is pretty desperate! I hope the hispanics don't fall for the b.s. again like they did in California.

Ohio filing Elecion complaint..Anybody complain about this

Perhaps this is the tip of the iceberg, but guy/gals these are really little people Sen. Obama, the finance industry was still the richest source of cash overall, a reflection of the industry's dominance of the American economy in recent years. After Goldman, his next-largest supporters for 2007 were executives from UBS AG (at least $230,000), Citigroup Inc. ($207,000) and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. ($206,000). Among all the presidential candidates, finance companies constituted eight of the 10 top sources of contributions, while the other big players were law and accounting firms. The staff and faculty of Harvard University provided at least $277,000 in gifts. Executives from technology rivals Google and Microsoft Corp. each gave more than $225,000. Google employees sent Sen. Obama more than $135,000 overall
