Ohio AFL-CIO President Travels "The Road To Recovery"

100_1688 Joe Rugola, the head of the Ohio AFL-CIO, has been traveling around the state of Ohio to visit job sites that have either been shut down or severely downsized under the last 8 years of Republican rule.

Last night the tour stopped right here in my own Monroe County at the former Ormet Aluminum Rolling Mill, one of 2 Ormet plants that made up our counties two biggest employers, and, unfortunately, the one that was shut down a few years ago.

Probably the most interesting part of the stop was the placement of the sign in the picture to the right. It’s a variation of the signs displayed on the RV (which show the state’s total lost jobs) they’ve been traveling in that shows the jobs lost at this particular site (750).

The tour started back on the 5th of this month, and will continue on right up until election day. Stops today have included MSI in Marietta and the “Lee Middleton Original Dolls” factory in Belpre. At 12:30 they’ll stop in Athens at McBee Systems, then Mine #2 in Albany at 2:00, and finish the day with a stop at Meridian Automotive Systems in Jackson at 4:30.
