OH-5: Republicans eating each other alive in primary

If anything gives Robin Weirauch an opening to seize OH-5, it will be this. Bob Latta and Steve Buehrer are going to rip each other to pieces in the Republican primary. Ideally, whoever wins will stagger along bloodied and broke into the general election. Weirauch, who's primary competition will likely cause her no problems, still will face an uphill battle in general. However, with good messaging and some money, she might be able to capture voters who otherwise might have voted for the Republican. I've also heard that the DCCC is sniffing around this race, so there may be considerable outside resources headed Weirauch's way.

The Club for Growth, masters are destroying other Republicans, are heavily supporting Buehrer. Here is Bob Latta's introductory ad(it will make you throw up just a little bit) and the ad the Club for Growth is running on Buehrer's behalf.

Gender neutrality in absentia.

Is Latta anti-death penalty?

The quote sounded like it was a reference, but I couldn't find one. The ad suggests that it's in reference to abortion, but the quote itself would seem to apply to the death penalty as well. Any one know? Is this one pro-lifer who is consistent on abortion and the death penalty?

i asked that in an anonymous comment

which jerid never approved (bad admin, bad). the way it's phrased, it certainly would imply that. if he is catholic, it could be the case. the church's position is consistent from birth until death. however, i'd guess this was just poor writing on his consultant's part.

Awkward

There could be nothing worse than having to clarify God's holy meaning as used in your own political ad.

geez...

I wonder how much they each spent on those ads. There's not a new idea in either one. It's kind of like that Meijer radio ad where Meijer supposedly bought some old auto dealer's ad and had someone occasionally voice over "Meijer" instead of the dealer's name. The Republicans must have a ministorage vault somewhere for their ads. Just change the name and the picture in the commercial, ad water, and voila! Instant Republican ad.

I hope Latta destroys Buehrer...

...it will be satisfying payback for when Mr. Buehrer tried to change state law to allow the Governor to furlough state employees for up to three months each year without pay or benefits.
