NEWS ALERT : PRYCE WON'T SEEK RE-ELECTION
Rep. Deborah Pryce, R-Ohio, will announce Thursday that she will not seek re-election in 2008, a source familiar with her decision said today. More details are available in this afternoon's CongressDailyPM at www.nationaljournal.com.

Good news for the people of the 15th Congressional District!

UPDATE: The Dispatch is now confirming that Pryce will quit after her current term. Apparently the Dispatch was supposed to get some sort of exclusive on the retirement to run tomorrow. I like to think that the blogosphere combined with the fact that no one in Columbus can keep their mouths shut helped ruin that.

Fmr. Attorney General Jim Petro apparently will take on Franklin County Commissioner Mary Jo Kilroy for the open seat. This comes after he initially turned the offer down. Petro, who has switched positions on nearly every issue he has ever touched, should be a fun punching bag for the next 16 months!
