OH-15: Kilroy Posts Strong Fundraising Numbers, Has Over $1.1 Million Cash on Hand

Read it and weep, Stevey:

Franklin County Commissioner Mary Jo Kilroy, candidate for
Congress in Ohio's 15th District, will report $369,739.34 in receipts
during the second quarter of 2008. This brings the Kilroy for Congress
campaign to $1,163,267.44 cash on hand as the campaign moves into the
third quarter.

The campaign continues to post strong fundraising numbers. This quarter,
832 individual contributors from Ohio donated more than $200 to the
campaign and an additional 900 individuals contributed under $200. The
average contribution was $167.24, underscoring the wide support Mary Jo
has received from Central Ohio families.

After coming so close in 2006, and with an open seat race this time, Mary Jo Kilroy is kicking ass and taking names. Of the many things in politics I am confident of, I know for a fact that Mary Jo will make a damn sight better representative than banking lobbyist Steve Stivers. At a time when Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are looking for government support after showering top executives with millions of bonuses during the good years, the last thing we need is another banking lobbyist cheering deregulation while calling for private gains and public losses like these.
