OH-15: Difference Between Stivers and Kilroy? 146 Votes

I haven't left home yet, and I just couldn't help but post on this story.

About 7:30 PM tonight, the Franklin County Board of Elections posted on their website the unoffical canvas of the results from yesterday's elections, including all ballots cast on paper as well as cast via machines and early voting. By adding their vote totals published on their website to the vote totals from Madison and Union Counties, my calculator comes up with this result:

Stivers: 130,282 votes (106,697 Franklin + 9363 Madison + 14222 Union)

Kilroy: 130,136 votes (118,645 Franklin + 5014 Madison + 6477 Union)

Anyone want to call this race for anyone? Anyone want to say that one vote doesn't matter?

At the end of the day, this means the result won't be known for a couple of weeks, as provisionals are counted and a probable automatic recount is conducted.

Absentees still coming in

The Franklin County Board of Elections is continuing to report absentee ballots coming in. I've been monitoring their absentee file, and the total absentee count stands at 267,699 through 11/06. The reported absentee count in the unofficial abstract so far is 232,245, so there about 35,000 absentees not yet reflected in the unofficial results. And that number is growing 2,820 came in yesterday, and they can continue to come in until Nov. 14, as long as they're postmarked by 11/03. Looks like Franklin County is already ahead of 2004 turnout in raw numbers.
