OH-10: Krazy K To Take A Seat?!?

Administrator - Posted on 10 October 2007

Ok, I know the Kucinich faithful out there might be a little more than skeptical when I start talking about Krazy K's future plans and ambitions. Afterall, we've beeen pretty rough on Dennis for the last few months (rightly so, though). Anyways, I'm gonna pass this one on with a big 'ole asterisk and admit my skepticism.

Word on the street is that Dennis is thinking about retiring from the big HOUSE this cycle.

Yup, y'all heard it here first. Chalk it up to hearsay, conjecture, or whatever the hell else you want. I'm just the messenger. Several (I'm talking 5, yes you heard that right, quadruple sourced) reliable sources have passed word on to me that they've heard D.K. is considering retirement.

Among multiple reasons I've heard is the suggestion that his wife Elizabeth and he have discussed moving on to "bigger things." Apparently she's been a very strong and uplifting presence in his life, and she legitimately believes that Dennis still has bigger, greater things in his future than just the U.S. House. Maybe we're talking a foundation or peace envoy or something, I'm not really sure.

Anyways, that's what I'm hearing. It would certainly explain the coyness and interest that several big names have given to entering this race. We shall see.

Lord knows I've had my differences with him, but I've tried to avoid calling him crazy. Despite my difference and deep skepticism, I do believe Dennis is sincere in making the world more progressive and peaceful.  I just have vehement disagreement with his tactics, political posturing, and some of his positions (I also think he gets kid glove treatment by some in our community that is not afforded to others.)

I still think it was wrong for him to vote against SCHIP, regardless of his reasons.  But they only "crazy" thing he's done is think that this run for the presidency would be any stronger than the last and appear on Syrian national t.v. and call that country's leadership humantarian and a true partner of peace.

Policy aside, with video like this I think "Krazy K" is more than earned.

and who could forget...

Maybe "Kuirky K" at the very least?

That said, his ultimatums he's issued on Iraq, his SCHIP vote, some of his other hard line votes certainly seem a little crazy (with a touch of show boatin' thrown in).

Jesse Jackson was fun to watch and he loved it! LOL!!!

Eccentric and unconventional, YES!

Crazy, NO!

"Cowardice asks the question: is it safe? Expediency asks the question: is it politic? Vanity asks the question: is it popular? But conscience asks the question: is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular- but one must take it simply because it is right."

Kucinich shows that dreams and hard work can still pay off in America. I hope his disrict continues to be represented by a true progressive whether it's him or someone else.

Do you think Kucinich and the Progressive Caucus are krazy for standing up to the White House regarding the wiretap bill? Democrats ought to be publicly accusing the Repubs of illegally wiretapping Democrats in the wiretap debate. Maybe then the public would undertand what's at stake. The Bush campaign always seemed a step ahead of the Kerry campaign and an aide to Sen. Orrin Hatch was busted hacking into the computers in Ted Kennedy's office so this is by no means far-fetched. http://www.truthout.org/docs_03/112703D.shtml
We do need to commend the Progressive Caucus for their leadership on the FISA legislation. It's nice to see Ohio so well represented in it as well with not only D.K.'s involvement, but Stephanie Tubb Jones and Marcy Kaptur as well. Slammed at work, so I can't write it up, but I'll have something on tomorrow if nobody else does, promise.
That's one of the few things I think Kucinich has done right (I'm also supportive introduction of his healthcare bill).
