Obama's campaign smears Clinton campaign; BSB whistles and looks the other way...
Jerid just posted a story about the Obama and Clinton campaigns both threatening litigation over Ohio.
Here's what the Obama campaign had to say:
“Our campaign’s goal today is to ensure that any registered voter in the state of Ohio can go to the polls and cast their ballot for their candidate of choice without interference. We understand that the Clinton campaign may want to depress turnout because Barack Obama has closed a 20-point gap over the course of this month as voters across the state got to know him.”
“It has been the hallmark of the Democratic party to educate and protect the rights of voters. If the Clinton campaign disagrees with that principle, they should say so today.”
This is nothing more than a smear designed to suggest that the Clinton campaign has been behind some voter suppression effort. What's even more shocking is that Obama's Ohio campaign makes the inference without making any actual allegation.
Now this doesn't come from some volunteer doing phonebanking for Obama. This is from OBAMA'S STATE CAMPAIGN MANAGER. And he has accused the Clinton campaign of voter suppression without so much of the decency of citing a single example.
Given that every poll (now even Zogby) has shown that the late-breaking momentum was going for Clinton, it's assine to suggest that Clinton wouldn't want as big of a turnout as she can get in a state that she has been leading by significant margins.
This site has been quick to front page every little bad act of any volunteer or supporter of Clinton and ascribe it to the entire campaign. Yet, here we have Obama's state campaign manager alleging that the Clinton campaign is engaged in a conspiracy of voter suppression, an obviously baseless smear. (I'd point out that I, a Clinton supporter, had his ballot challenged because somehow I was recorded as a registered Republican even though I have always voted in the Democratic primaries.)
Sorry Jerid and Tim, I couldn't hear you over the crickets chirping....

This was really worth a seperate reposting of the quote already appearing on the frontpage. You definitely didn't need to be all whiny about it and leave a full post instead of a comment. Definitely. Excuses excuses.
No crickets here modern. You're just full of it. Again.
I think the fact that the Obama campaign is smearing the Clinton campaign with baseless accusations of voter suppressionis worthy of a story. Jerid, you and Tim have had two posts on the "as far as I know" comment with nothing new in the second posts.
You have two posts just to discuss and advocate that Clinton should drop out before a single vote today was counted. Tim has posted reply posts to my stories in the past. Sometimes even more than one.
You call me full of it and yet you're the one who wrote about Obama's internals showed him ahead behind the margin of error just moments before he wrote the state off and decided to focus on saving his lead in Texas.
Jerid, if you honestly expect me to believe that if the roles had been reversed you wouldn't be the first one to attack the Clinton campaign if they had made such ridiculous comments, then you're going to have to do more than your prior comment.
Who'd you vote for today, btw?
Let me guess, you're still undecided.
And BTW, Butler County still had touch screens this morning...
Believe it or not, Jerid, people voted for Clinton for reasons other than Ted. I think if you go back and read, you'd note that nowhere did I mention Ted.
You and Tim both have been downright rude and hateful to anyone who dares think differently than you two.
So, Jerid, how many stories did you write that were suggested to you by the Obama campaign?
Your coverage the entire primary has been laughable. Since day 1 you tried to act like this independent observer when it was transparent where your perspective came from. Probably about Feb. 10th I could've told you who you were going to vote for. My biggest problem with your coverage was your inability to be upfront about that from the start. I never made any bones where I was coming from.
And trust me, the jackass comment goes both ways modern. But I still love ya.
For those of you who believe Hillary is somehow going to win the nomination, go here:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/29/delegate.counter/index.html
Of the remaining states, Hillary will probably win the following: Rhode Island and Puerto Rico
Hillary has a shot to win the following: Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Guam (who knows? big military presence)
Obama will probably win the following: Vermont, Wyoming, Indiana, Oregon, South Dakota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Kentucky, Montana
Obama has a shot to win the following: Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Guam
There is no way imaginable that Hillary can win this nomination without blackmailing superdelegates, and as we know, Tom Brokaw said on MSNBC this morning that he has sources telling him that 50 superdelegates are prepared to demand that Hillary drop out tomorrow if Obama wins Texas tonight. THIS IS OVER, regardless of the result in Ohio tonight.
If the roles had been reversed, you'd be the first person to join the comments to condemn the Clintons if they had made such a ridiculous smear.
You really have no creditibility given that you've been first in line to slam the Clintons for whatever slight you imagined they are responsible for. You've been one of the worst offenders.
