Radio Markets
I took a look at the ratings for different locations for radio, and Ohio is obviously featured heavily. It was noted earlier that Hackett is hosting at WLW all week, and this happens to be the #1 station in Cincinnati which is the 28th largest radio market.
Eric has some fun audio up over at Plunderbund of Hackett on the show.
What I did notice looking through all these ratings for the Ohio media markets is that christian radio gets substantial listenership. Does anyone here listen to that stuff ? Does it ever get political ?
Politics is all about controlling spaces to get your message out. With labor diminishing in size the workplace has become a harder and harder place for Democrats to get their message out, while the Republicans have nurtured the churches. The consolidation of media into the hands of a few (look who owns all those radios stations, it's just a handful of companies) has also made it harder.
Hopefully the netroots can become the new space for Democrats to reach a broad audience.
