OH-01: John Cranley is a genius

Hat tip: Ohio's First Blog

During Dick Cheney fundraising tour in the Ohio First Congressional, Democratic candidate John Cranley had a stroke of genius.  For half an hour today, Cranley's campaign got a gas station to sell gas at $1.26 a gallon, the price of gasoline when Congressman Chabot voted for the Administration's energy plan.  The campaign is re-imbursing the gas station for the difference in price.  From the Cincinnati Enquirer article:

The regular price now is $2.69 and Cranley said he would reimburse Bob's out of his campaign fund for the cost difference during that half hour.

"While I'm doing that, Steve Chabot will be busy filling up his coffers with the help of Cheney, who pushed through huge subsidies for the oil companies,'' Cranley said.

Nothing like a gentle reminder to the voters how much Steve Chabot and this Administration has done to keep oil companies from gouging Americans under their subsidies.  I'm sure the Cranley campaign didn't also provide those customers with any campaign literature during their stop, either.
