The Bloody 6th
I have a feeling the OH-6 district is going to be a rather nasty campaign. We have already seen the NRCC atack wilson for failing to get on the ballot and for some issues years ago. They are also threatening to spend upto $4 million dollars to win the seat for Chuck Blasdel. I hope they try.
The GOP have a long uphill battle to win this seat.
The poll, which was conducted for Wilson by Alan Secrest in mid-January, had Wilson leading state Rep. Chuck Blasdel (the likely Republican nominee) 42 percent to 26 percent. More daunting for Republicans was the generic ballot test that had a Democrat receiving 52 percent of the vote to 28 percent for a generic Republican.
Where I come from that is called a lost cause. Wilson also has a money advantage, though Cheney is riding into the district to help Blasdel close the gap.
Retooled with new staff it looks like Wilson is up for the fight
State Sen. Charlie Wilson (D) announced his opposition to privatizing SocSec at a 3/9 press conference from a gazebo near the Bridgeport Monument. He was "armed" with a "let's get back to business" slogan and introduced newly-hired manager Jason Burke and press sec. Amanda Wurst. He told reporters "he was satisfied with how the press handled" his slip-up of being left off the ballot. Wilson: "I know I really needed a slapping"
It looks like lots of money and lots of acrimony and GOP dirty campaigning are in store for what will be the bloody 6th.
