Mike DeWine's Ironic Sense of Humor

The author of legislation to ratify warrantless surveillance of Americans by the NSA must have a very ironic sense of humor to send out a Fourth of July email talking about our freedom.

Dear Friends,

As a free Nation, we are grateful for so much.

To remain free, we must remember how America won its independence and honor those who made it possible. I ask you to remember the men and women who fought for our Nation's freedoms and those currently serving and protecting us from the threats we now face.

As a member of the Senate Appropriations and Intelligence Committees, I actively support Ohio's military personnel and their families and continue to fight for much needed investments in our national security. We must continue to provide our servicemen and women abroad and our fire fighters and first responders here at home with the necessary resources to protect us.

Fran and I would like to wish you and your family a Safe and Happy Independence Day.
