Ohio gubernatorial candidate, Rep. Ted Strickland endorsed Dr. Vic Wulsin this past Saturday in Portsmouth (Scioto County) and Piketon (Pike County). Traveling across the state as part of the "Turnaround Bus Tour," Strickland gave a glowing endorsement to Wulsin. "Dr. Victoria Wulsin would do Southern Ohio proud by bringing back integrity, honesty, and real family values to Ohio's 2nd Congressional district."
As Strickland made his way to the podium, the crowd, led by Wulsin, chanted, "We want Ted! We want Ted!" - The enthusiasm reached a fever pitch when Ted took the mic and shouted, "We want Victoria for Congress in the second district!" WATCH THE VIDEO.
Wulsin's platform, which emphasizes affordable healthcare and economic development via investing in alternative energy resonated with the supporters in attendance, many of them veterans and members of the local Laborers' Union. "We will turn around Ohio by investing in innovation and education that will deliver 21st century jobs that pay living wages, provide good health care, and deliver promised pensions," Wulsin said to a standing ovation. "We can make Ohio proud again," she said.
The endorsement by Strickland, who, according to a recent poll leads Ken Blackwell by 16 points, adds a considerable boost to the energy and focus of our campaign to unseat Jean Schmidt.
Full disclosure: I am currently a paid staffer for Dr. Victoria Wulsin. I first got my start in blogging as an early supporter of her candidacy in the special election primary last summer, which Paul Hackett ultimately won. In light of the recent discussion regarding the dubious ethics of some of the biggest liberal bloggers in the nation, I think it's especially important to emphasize disclosure and transparency
