Heh. I'm looking forward to meeting her actually. I think she is the only statewide candidate I havent yet met - staff

Today's The Other Paper catches staff's flirtatious comments about Barbara Sykes, along with comments from Cinci Black Blog. According to The Other Paper, RAB and Bizzy Blog are drooling over Taylor.

Check out the article: "Hot race? Maybe. Hot candidates? Oh, yes. This campaign has bloggers panting.

Glad it got them some press. Both fine looking ladies - and Sykes will be our next Auditor.

Just exactly where would you say the line is that you're getting close to crossing re: chatting up female candidates' appearances?  Or are you going to tell me all's fair in politics and elections?
I think my wife would have to judge it for me...
I get the value - I'd use it myself if I thought my mug on a book jacket or next to a column I write etc. would increase circulation/profits. But, and I'm just saying, you know, because I can and it's the blogosphere, there's a point at which recognizing or over-recognizing any candidate's looks seems to be in bad taste.  No - I don't think you've crossed it at all.  But I do wonder how the individual candidates feel about it - just as a point of curiosity.  Maybe I should do my own poll of them about it, just to know - because honestly - I have no idea what they think about that kind of attention.  And I'd like to know what they think about it.
the candidates are quoted in it. Skyes said she is flattered.
I'm going to see Barbara Sykes and Jennifer Brunner speak next Thursday night. In order not to be beguiled by their physical charms, I promise to close my eyes and think of England.

No, I don't.
are both attractive women (and Brunner has a green leather jacket!). Also, both are strong campaigners, with forceful, direct messages. Sykes promises to audit the heck out of anyone receiving large quantities of state money; Brunner has vowed to conduct transparent, hassle-free elections for ALL voters, regardless of demographic, political affiliation or where they live and has vowed not to be involved in ANY campaign while SoS.Since these things are NOT happening now and there's no reason to think a new crop of Republicans would change that, these two ladies deserve our votes!
Let's work together to retire Ken Blackwell from politics
I'm even trying to figure out what a house party is so I can have one for Brunner.  I'm embarassed to think I'll bring in the lowest amount of money of anyone else hosting one, though.  Maybe I should just shoot for being the best looking house party hostess? ;)
... that top also notes that you "may be prematurely dismissing the hunk factor in the congressional race between Pat Tiberi and Bob Shamansky." Bob of course, appreciates the being recognized as the electoral hunk he clearly is - and notes that he's bulked up to a whopping 124 lbs in preparation for the coming battle - meaning that y'all get 15 lbs more Bob than the Army got when was when he was drafted back in 1950.

From The Other Paper article, quoting Taylor:

"I trust people will make the informed decision—when you look at the professional qualifications, when you look at the experience that I've had working in a public accounting firm for over 16 years, the fact that I'm a certified public accountant—irregardless of what people might think about physical looks." emphasis mine

Even though she's not running for poet laureate, there is no such word as irregardless. The Elements of Style, Strunk and White, page 56 (although I didn't have to look it up to know, phew; just citing it for others)
