More Bloviations From Your Favorite Rightwinger

Sometimes when I read the rightwing blogs I just imagine the laughtrack from Cheers playing after each sentence. Tonight RABid comments on the Space video (where Colbert cajoles him into claiming he's a Republican):

Even though it is all a joke, this video makes a clear point: Democrats in much of Ohio don't win by being Democrats: They win be sharing the morals and traditional values which are associated with the Republican Party. Zack is a far-left liberal, but he is smart enough to know how to hide his views in his conservative district.

Cue that laughtrack. First off, in the past year two Republican Congressmen were indicted, Mark Foley turned out to be more interested in NAMBLA than even Ken Blackwell, and the GOP sent us even farther into debt with their fiscal irresponsibility. Last I checked, the Democratic party didn't share any of those values (and I'd argue with Matty that they're neither "traditional" nor "moral").

The only thing that I think he could even be remotely referring to is Zack Space's staunch support for the 2nd Amendment. Here's a newsflash to Matty. Despite the fact that the NRA is stacked with GOP loyalists, Republicans aren't the only ones that support 2nd amendment rights. It's in the Constitution afterall...Democrats are definitely pro-constitution...unlike some people. Preserve and protect, buddy.

Indeed

You're right, Jerid.  I've always been bemused by this claim that Ohio Democrats win only by "sharing the morals and traditional values which are associated with the Republican Party."  Were that the slightest bit true, Ohioans would simply vote for Republicans to begin with.
