Meet the New Boss, Different from the Old Boss
Forgive me Susan for borrowing your trademark phrase for describing Barack Obama. I thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Nick DeCenzo and I am the other half of the team that will be taking over administration of the Buckeye State Blog from Jerid. For the past few months I have been posting on the front page of BSB under the nom de plume "Dr. Truth". Unlike Jerid, who is just getting captured by the "real world" now, I was caught some time ago, which is part of reason why we are going with a co-admin setup in the future.
Prior to posting on BSB, I had a personal blog which I started back in 2005. As for my other political activities, I currently serve as that National Committeeman for the Ohio Young Democrats. That means that once a quarter, I travel to the Young Democrats of America National Committee meeting to represent Ohio's interests. (The next nat'l committee meeting is May 30-June 1 in Nashville, TN for the curious). I recently returned to the Cleveland area after living and working in Columbus for six years. I'm originally from the Akron area.
If anyone has any hot story leads, you can feel free to drop me a line at drtruth@buckeyestateblog.com That e-mail will likely be changing as Dave and I implement a different e-mail system to go with the new site, and I will update you when it does. I am really looking forward to working on BSB, especially the new site which in my opinion has many features that are unique amongst Ohio blogs. However, my blogging will have to be around my work schedule so please bear with me.
PS. My first administrative action was to delete Magi1's completely inappropriate post about Jerid's dad. Watch it Magi, there's a new sheriff in town.

LOL ... you deleted it because you can't counter it. If you can't beat them -delete them is your philosophy. I am proud that I came up with a post so strong that you had no other options! What a wimp you are. I can walk into a DEM board and own it because you simply don't have brainpower here ... get off your ass and work! If this is the future of the Dem party you guys are in big trouble. The only people here with any idea of how politics work are Modern and Schmennis. The rest of you need to go back to school.

Your post was deleted because it was completely inappropriate and mean-spirited. There's no way to counter that. How do you counter two people having sex in a public place?
Dave and I both agreed your post was mean-spirited and inappropriate. Be careful; I considered banning you.
kid was ill would you reply that it was probably I who made her sick because you heard that there are cases of Munchausen by proxy?
Talk about stupid and baseless leaps to conclusions.

I missed Magi1's comment but we DO need to talk about workplace injuries, unions, NAFTA and local labor.
I am not from Ohio, and I come from an "at-will" state where unions are nearly non-existent. With the exception of electrical, carpenters and so forth.
I have noticed a terrible work attitude since residing in Ohio and I can totally understand why companies like Wal-mart are under pressure from unions because unions don't seem to protect workers but seem to protect non-workers.
I have a friend that is from outside Ohio and he started at Honda a few weeks ago, he is already interviewing for a management position because he doesn't have the "shop" mentality. Why do people wonder why all the jobs are leaving the country when so many Americans have a bad attitude towards work and a poor work ethic and expect the unions to protect their jobs when they unions are raping companies with outragous demands for wages and benefits.
I bought a bike at Wal-Mart last year....and I got a chance to speak to the manager for about an hour while they adjusted it. We got into the discussion of unions. (he left a union to work at Wal-Mart)
As a supervisor myself, I empathized with his perspective. He told me the problem with Wal-mart isn't that they don't offer benefits, the problem is that he can't find enough qualified people to EARN benefits. He says many times people apply for work get hired then proceed to figure out how to "screw" the company with long breaks, unexcused absences, problems with family life AND EXPECT TO MAKE 30K no questions asked. He told me that Wal-Mart offers excellent benefits BUT that they can hardly find people that they can trust with 30 hours per week. He also told me it is the "union mentality" that has wrecked Ohio's economy. People want to get paid, but they don't want to "WORK."
I believe him because having worked at a large PR firm here in Ohio for over 3 years I had the displeasure of hiring employees. Most of them DIDN'T make it past 1 year. Most of them come in with impeccable resumes and promises and hopes of advancement, and self destruct within 3 months. I wonder if it is the University's fault or society's MTV generation. I would say I hired close to 200 people and maybe interviewed 275.
Most applicants show up and wonder, "Where is my desk?" and are disappointed when they get assigned to a cubicle and don't get executive privileges their first day. (Parking pass, full medical benefits, cell phone)
So yeah, I did miss the offending post, but if you only allow people to post that agree with you, the board doesn't get the benefit of multiple perspectives.
You have the opportunity to correct what you feel magi1's offending thoughts and post and you can delete anything posted that you don't like, but the ONE great thing about this board is its readership.
Unfortunately controversy stirs interest.
Keep the controversy, delete anything out of bounds.
First, Ohio is an "at-will" employment state. The right-wing, anti-labor term I believe you meant was "right to work" state. Because unions keep people from working.
If you had read the comment, you realized that it was nothing more than a disgusting smear against Jerid's father simply because he was injured on the job that consisted as an allegation that his injuries was part of some ridiculous union conspiracy fraud.
It had absolutely no intellectual or societal benefit. None. It wasn't about not agreeing with Magi's political views or not. It was about a distasteful slander of Jerid's father and smear. It was exactly about deleting anything out of bounds.
I'm just saying I'd like to have some conversation about racism, labor unions and healthcare.
I see on some other blogs that people don't understand that in the United States you can't buy a black man but there is such a thing as white slavery/human trafficking.....You can't buy a black man in the U.S. anymore but in North America the trade in White women is still occurring.
And that tying to that Obama deserving to be president, as if electing a black president will make reparations for 100's of years of slavery.
Using that logic a woman shouldn't be president for a few hundred more years because the U.S. still has illegal slave trade of female sex slaves.
The REALITY is racism exists and the Democrat party should be afraid that it exists to the point that no matter how "right" the black candidate seems to be, he will still face an uphill battle in a contest with McCain.
I believe it is pertinent to Ohio BECAUSE I still believe that Ted Strickland would accept the nomination for VP from Hillary. Watch him stall for 30 seconds (AND SMILE)
A "race" between McCain and Obama would drive closet racists into the voting booth (absent of prying eyes) and drive a stake through the heart of people that deny that racism is alive and well in our time.
It comes down to race Obama can't win against McCain....the nomination HAS to be Hillary.
Black voters are going to HAVE to be disenfranchised as well as the youth that enthusiastically support Obama. Its sad, many people will be hurt and many will move away from politics, but just like with Bill's administration, the ends justifies the means.
My personal theory is that the DNC knew that Hillary vs. MaCain was a losing proposition, so the DNC had to find an unlikely and flawed candidate (Obama) that could be forwarded to contrast against Hillary and make Hillary look like a Saint.
During my managing over 180 issue campaigns, I learned to always look for an "X" factor.
The"X" factor in this nomination is that the DNC didn't count on Obama's charismatic personality becoming so popular.
Hillary has ALWAYS been the DNC nominee and the problem has presented itself as to "what do we do with Obama?" (now that he is a rock star)
And say farewell to Ted Strickland because IF he were offered the V.P. job he would be a fool in anyones universe to decline. That is like ANY 10 year old turning down a free all expense trip to Disney World. lol
Regardless of the consequences for Ohio, and say Hello Gov. Fisher.
Fairy Fable.....Fractured maybe....time will tell.
What to be done with delegates of Michigan AND Florida STILL haven't been decided yet...THAT is Hillary's point of contention that will drive her to the E-N-D.
At-will
It's a "horse-a-piece"

Magi, KJK called you a douchebag BECAUSE OF your mean-spirited, completely inappropriate comments about Jerid's dad that I deleted. I have no problem with that...your comments were way out of line.
Jesus, man, have you not a shred of human decency in you?
I have it on good authority (common sense) that I'm a hell of a lot bigger than you are. I have mirrors in my house to verify my belief. I would call you a hell of a lot more in person than I'd call you over the internet. I vote Democratic--I don't have Tiny Wang Syndrome.
