List of Lee Fisher's endorsements from last week...

First, I want to publicly apologize to Lauren Goode, Fisher campaign spokewoman for the delay in getting this post up. Last week, I responded to a blogger outreach effort by Lauren by asking for a definitive list of the people who endorsed Fisher at his launch last week because I could only find a few identified here or there.

She actually got back to me on Monday, and I just simply dropped the ball until now.

Lauren also reassured me that Ohio blogs aren't being left out from receiving press releases from the Fisher campaign, but that a press release referenced in the Akron Beacon Journal over the weekend concerned the endorsement of Fisher by the Columbiana County Democratic Party was sent only to the NEO media market.

Besides Governor Strickland and Speaker Buddish, Lauren reported to me that last week Fisher was also endorsed by Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams, Montgomery County Commissioners Debbie Lieberman and Judy Dodge, State Senators Sue Morano and Jason Wilson, and State Representatives Marian Harris, Dennis Murray, and Matt Szollosi.

Lauren reported that they will do a formal press release on these announcements when the campaign initates their travel schedule in the next few weeks, and that they expect to announce additional endorsements in the next few weeks ahead.

So the news is that Fisher has the first and, so far, only county party endorsement.  No word yet on whether Fisher will agree not to seek the ODP endorsement and let the race be decided by the primary voters without ODP's thumb on the scale or not.  But I'm following up with Lauren on that issue.
