Kucinich Knows Theres Something About Mary

How could I have possibly missed this! From yesterday's Openers:

Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, who is busy running for president largely on his anti-war stance, lost an ally today and gained an opponent.

Rosemary Palmer, an anti-war activist whose son died in the war in Iraq in 2005, announced her candidacy for Kucinich's 10th District seat.

Because Palmer is a Democrat, she will face Kucinich in the March primary.

"We need a full-time congressman for this area whose interests lie in developing this district," Palmer said during a short news conference before addressing the war issue.

Palmer is opposed to the war in Iraq and wants the troops home. But she does not believe an immediate U.S. withdrawal is a realistic or productive goal. Kucinich has called for an unconditional withdrawal with international peace keeping presence.

She called attention to their differences.

"Standing on principle doesn't mean standing in cement," she said.

Couldn't have said that better myself. Also, Rosemary's a former supporter of Dennis':

Palmer and her husband, Paul Schroeder, campaigned for Kucinich in 2006. Their son, Lance Cpl. Edward "Augie" Schroeder died in August 2005 along with other Lima Company Marines.

What an interesting development.

be prepared

for jeanlr to shit all over you for posting this. debating dennis is a big time blogger no-no.

Listen, Mr. FrontPage Bigshot

My comments that I write FOR this blog are as articulate, thoughtful, and helpful, and ENCOURAGING as I can be.

I CONTRIBUTE my thoughts and writing, and MY TIME, to this blog because I enjoy an intelligent exchange of ideas, and I have my own perspective drawn on about 25 years of political interest and my degree in History and my many, many travels, and my participation in peace and social justice groups and political campaigns for many, many years.

If you choose to continue to post on the front of this blog, or anywhere else, you can expect that I or someone else will answer~ it's called a DIALOGUE.

Anyone capable of typing can debate me or anyone else here, except you apparantly~ There's no "no-no", there's only reasoned logic that perhaps you're not up to refuting.  That's not my fault.

Post away, but at least try to contribute something useful.  It is really messed up of you to attack me yet again, personally, for things that I write for this blog.

And Jerid, please note the other posts I've written, like the one titled "Hey Jerid", it sums up my attitude about how I interact with people.  I'm not a pushover, I'm not a bully; I'm confident in what I know and I'm not afraid to argue the point with anyone.

If you guys choose to continue to attack Kucinich, go ahead, afterall, weren't you guys the ones who thought that Paul Hackett was the Second Coming and that Sherrod Brown was not going to be able to beat DeWine and on and on, so wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.   Who was the one person who was able to explain to you guys for months and months before exactly what would happen in November 2006, that Brown would defeat DeWine by a good margin and the Hackett was a flash-in-the-pan-Deaniac-delusion?  That would be me.  I do have some insight, ya know.

You youngsters would do better by LISTENING first, then responding, and cut out the namecalling and while you're at it, cut out with all the cursing.

Jerid, If you intend to ever be able to be taken seriously, you really need to up your game.  Serious people aren't going to want to deal with a bunch of goofy frat boy antics.  You are going to all this trouble to do your Project and this blog, and then someone like 2010 takes it in this direction.  It makes you look bad.

~ and, 2010, if you don't like the fact that you cannot out-argue someone on a particular point, then I suggest you try harder.

Jean

I respect the fact that you have differing opinions than me, and other posters on this site. I've never fooled with your posts or anything else like that. It's one of the things I pride about BSB - we're 100% open to everyone (except he that shall not be named).

That said, don't get upset at what someone says something you disagree with. Take it up with them online, or via email. And plenty of serious folks come to BSB, but they like the funhouse aspect as well (at least a lot of them). We push important stuff here, but we have a little fun with it too.

And finally, I'm wrong plenty of the time.

Hey there again, Jerid

I am not "upset" about what someone has written except when they publicly diminish my writing as they have~ Do I disagree with 2010's charactarization of what my writing means? (I won't repeat it here, dear reader, it's the very first comment to this post.)  It's not a disagreement I have, I am rightly offended, and it's not fair or justified.

It's not a matter of disagreeing, it is a matter of respect.  Thank you for saying you respect my opinion, clearly there are others here who do not share that courtesy.

Those kind of posts undercut this blog's reputation, and by extension, your reputation, especially as you are trying to get to know people in the campaigns so you can cover them.  What serious person is going to take time to talk to someone representing a blog cluttered up with this kind of nonsense?

Fun is fun, and I like fun~ in fact  I am one funny mutha-shut-your-mouth.  But everything in it's place.

Damn, Jean...

That's what I call taking someone out to the woodshed.

And, rightfully so.

one thing i've never done

is attack you personally. however you have called me an ego maniac or some variation of that on multiple occasions.

secondly, look back at all the things you've said. you've never once brought up anything substantive about dennis kuncinich. remember that time that i compared how many bills he has sponsored to the number of bills hillary clinton has sponsored while both have been running for president? your response to that was to attack my supposed ego and imply that i think the voters of the 10th are stupid.

you have never participated in a factual debate on kuncinich's effectiveness as a congressman. luckily, he now has a primary challenger, so we'll have plenty of reason to discuss it.

heh

Well, Kucinich is a current Prezzie, so I avoided weighing in with my opinion in the post because of the NH Project (even though he won't return my calls). Though I'm sure you know what my opinion is.

DK

Dave Hickman? Is that you?  Last time I checked you don't live in NH.

And pull the stick out of your ass. You don't like things, find a different blog.

(PS. I'm pretty proud of my law school experience, so are Mom and Pops. This is your last warning re: personal attacks in that area).

Dave Hickman

From Meg Palmers 2nd post full of personal shots, the email address, and some other signs, I'm pretty sure we just had ourselves a Hickman sighting. Standard operating procedure for when Dave shows up all crazy and demeaning like is to remove his comments and block his access to remind him that while BSB is open to all, we have one exception: Hickman has been banned for life. However, I've left Hickman's first comment up in case anyone else out there had similar thoughts, concerns, or whatever.

Hi Dave!

Bye Dave!  Love ya man.  See ya at ComFest.  Bring your hacky sack!

ooohhhh....DK is running for

ooohhhh....DK is running for president that's right. And I just thought he was on a national campaign to embarass us. I can't wait to stop getting the e-mails from around the country laughing at DK.
