Ken Blackwell for NAMBLA president !
I've never seen a candidate make such a fool of himself as Ken Blackwell did tonight during the final Gubernatorial debate in Columbus.
You could tell that the debate moderators and questioners were visibly embarrassed for him as he repeatedly espoused his deep knowledge of NAMBLA. There probably aren't too many acronyms a candidate should never utter on live broadcast TeeVee, but NAMBLA would be one of them, and Blackwell repeatedly uttered it, often getting it wrong.
It was the most hysterically funny thing I have seen a debate candidate talk about. Ken's been reading too many right wing blogs I think.

Blackwell showed his nutty side tonight for all to see!
Nutty, you say?
I can't resist reposting this, then.
And I agree that Strickland's response was perfect.
Sure
I meant to clean up the edges, but I never got around to it. But I'm quite pleased with the expression on the nut's face and the way it fits with the rest of the picture.
I just saw the local TV coverage on Fox 8 in Cleveland,
Blackwell is sick
Blackwell did succeed
Just maybe
I watched the debate
and it was actually physically painful to watch Krazy Ken say those words. He has lost his freakin' mind. Just wow. He will forever be morphed with Cartman or the weird guy on South Park in my mind.
It's actually just completely embarassing that he is a candidate and current office holder in Ohio. He's on a sinking boat with a shot gun - instead of trying to row to shore he's shooting holes in the boat.
He's completely lost it - and I'm glad the Ohio voters can see him for what he really is.
Who gave Blackwell the ammo he used to shoot himself in the foot
Remember the smear tactic regarding the personal life of Strickland and his wife that resulted in the GOP firing a campaign worker 3 months ago? Gary Lankford cited Scott Pullins' blog as to where he got the info he sent out in that incriminating e-mail that got him canned by the Ohio GOP.
Well, another neocon blogger brought up the 1999 House vote Blackwell cited during Monday's debate. Tom Blumer at BizzyBlog began discussing it last week. Blumer's extensive commentary, which continued yesterday, and referrals to his site from other neocons left no doubt the Blackwell camp got the idea to hit below the belt from Blumer.
So what happened Monday night? Blackwell takes the information from Blumer's posting and adds to it his claim of our guy being "endorsed" by NAMBLA...a "standing ovation," he said. Lo and behold--we now have the connection of BizzyBlog's Tom Blumer with the North American Man-Boy Love Association, all credit going to Ken Blackwell. (Note we say there's a connection, not a membership involved.)
I have no clue if the nasty neocon blogosphere was the October surprise planned by Karl Rove, but I'm already starting to hit back. If you read the front page article in Monday's Wall Street Journal on William Kerr, the blogger who outed a Congressional page, it had a sentence about a blogger from Ohio who posted a photo of Kerr's 11-year-old son.
That was me, and the photo posting included a commentary on how Kerr hindered the efforts of law enforcement (including my co-workers) in the apprehension of sexual predators, as well as prevented victims from coming forward.
The Wall Street Journal reporter and the Oklahoma City media profiling Kerr were completely clueless--as clueless as Scott Pullins was when he blamed another blogger for the piece I did which linked him to the suicide of an Afghan war veteran. Brandon Ratliff lost his promotion with the City of Columbus after Pullins' Ohio Taxpayers Association deceitfully got voters to repeal a car-rental tax (Issue 18), which resulted in massive budget cuts and layoffs to the City of Columbus.
There is a point to the digressions.
Blackwell's campaign once again is relying on the neocon bloggers like Matt Cole at Lincoln Logs--the guy drumming up the Strickland residency issue--to win over his dwindling base. He relied on Pullins again at a press conference yesterday when bringing up the bull about that Strickland staffer he was obsessed with discussing during the debate.
And once Blumer gets wind of the connection I make at my blog, he will realize the situation he placed himself in: checkmate. If he tries to sue, he makes himself vulnerable for any nasty comments he made in his blog. And Pullins, Cole and the rest of the SOB Alliance will also realize, as I'm sure William Kerr is finding out in Oklahoma City, that what they write will eventually bite them in the ass. Getting a "video no longer available" message
But I'll go ahead and post what I just posted in the comments at my blog...
Blackwell tried to make politial hay of a vote where Stickland just voted "present" rather than in favor of a resolution. Blackwell kept saying "NAMBLA applauded this vote". Strickland responded, "Mr. Blackwell may know more about NAMBLA than I do--I was not aware that they applauded me." Neither of them used the acronym, though. They both painstakingly said all the words, over and over again. Here's the debate fact check from the Strickland campaign.
