Is Naugle At the Bottom of the Olentangy?

"When People Fuck With Marc Dann, People Pay."

I can just hear Leo Jennings III saying that, legs loosely crossed, reclining in a dark leather executive chair as he takes a puff off a Cameroon cigar.

"People pay..." 

The words hang in the silence as the smoke swirls in the room between the two of us; both of us reflecting on the meaning of the declaration in regards to the now vanished Matthew C. Naugle, poster boy of the Ohio Republican blogosphere. And then my mind turns to the twisting and mysterious Olentangry River making its way through Columbus proper, the bottom of which is the supposed new home of Mr. Naugle after having made wildly inflammatory and unsourced commentary regarding Attorney General Dann's fidelity (per Naugle's standard operating procedure). The silence is shattered with a bullet as Jennings loads Right Angle Blog and starts cackling devilishly, saying again in again in high pitched squeal "I wonder where Mattie could be?"

OK...so the events depicted above didn't actually happen - or at least I've got no real, um, evidence, to suggest they did. Pure speculation and imagination. But what else can explain Matt Naugle's sudden disappearance from the blogosphere. I've had media, consultants and party people inquire with me as to his location.

"He's in New Orleans volunteering to help rebuild the city," I've told folks. Or, "he's traveling abroad as an ambassador of US goodwill." However, for some reason most folks see through those claims. I don't know why, I thought they were persuasive fibs.

For what it's worth, I actually sent an email to the old gasbag, trying to bait him into giving up what he's up to. But unlike usual, no response. But all things considering, Naugle's been gone from RABid for about 31 days with no word why. But considering the fact that his magic disappearance came just 6 days after he may've engaged in libel against the Attorney General, some have speculated that may be real the reason he's not online anymore. Perhaps a judicial gag order? Who knows.

But the real shame of all of this lies in what Russo describes in his review of RAB. The Naugle-less RABid has had to turn back to alleged Cuyahoga County Republican Party Central Committee-member "RightAngle" for all of it's "news." And, well, he's not so great of a blogger.

Mr. RightAngle (said Cuyahoga County executive committee member) almost never writes anything other than a headline, and then copies literally an entire article from (usually) the PD into a post. Whatever you think of the blog, he's either the laziest blogger on earth, or he's a shameles plaigiarist and copyright violator. In my early blogger days, I once emailed Mr. RightAngle to warn him that he was violating copyright by posting entire articles, and he seemed to get the point. Now, he's back to it.

So the questions remain. Where in the world is Matthew Naugle? 

Any guesses?
