Holy shit - Voter ID provision suspended by Judge
Via Paint Ohio Blue, the Dispatch reports
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A federal judge today suspended Ohio's new voter identification law as it applies to absentee voting, saying the state's 88 counties are inconsistently applying the new rule in voting that is currently under way.
U.S. District Court Judge Algenon Marbley granted the temporary restraining order on behalf of labor and poverty groups who filed a lawsuit earlier in the week.
The ruling is in effect until Wednesday, when the judge will consider arguments from the same groups seeking to block application of the identification law for voters who go to the poll on election day.
I aint no lawyer but I think you have to reach a pretty high burden of proof for a TRO to be granted.
This could be MASSIVE news.
