Full Frontal Hypocrisy: GOPer Says Extend Bush Tax Cuts Even If It Adds to the Deficit
Millions of Americans are losing their unemployment benefits each day because the GOPers and conservative leaning Democrats in the U.S. Senate don't want to add another $30 Billion to our deficit.
And yet Sen Jon Kyl (R-AZ) is perfectly willing to add $678 Billion to the deficit...by extending George W. Bush's tax cuts for the rich.
That noise you heard, by the way, was Democrats everywhere jumping all over this nonsense. What is in the water in Arizona, anyway?
White House aides immediately seized on the comments. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs wrote on Twitter, "Kyl says wealthy need big Bush tax cuts while middle class families are on their own to fend for themselves as a result of Bush economy."
There's only one phrase that leaps to mind for this type of mind-numbing hypocrisy...it's full frontal hypocrisy. E-mail me if you have an appropriate graphic.

Yes, Jon Kyl has exhibited hypocrisy here.
But Barack Obama exhibits hypocrisy every day, on virtually every issue. Iraq, Guantanamo. No individual mandate for health care (until after the election, of course). No tax hikes on the middle class - "Not one dime!" The budget will be balanced. No lobbyists. Clean up Washington. By bribing legislators. So on and so forth.
So again, yes, Jon Kyl demonstrates hypocrisy here. But your comments suggest you do not have a memory, or that 'hypocrisy' is a word that simply does not apply to Democrats. Or maybe you don't read what you write before you click "post".
This is a very odd post.
I don't believe Barack Obama is exhibiting hypocrisy, it's merely campaign promises bumping up against political reality. Would you like me to haul out a list of Bush's broken promises from his 2000 campaign? I remember them well (uniter not a divider, compassionate conservative, neutral on gay marriage, etc.)
How about we not change the subject. There are millions of Americans suffering because of lost unemployment benefits, because GOPers like yourself do not want to add $30 billion to the deficit. And yet its somehow OK to add $678 billion to the deficit to extend tax cuts for rich people.
Tell me, Mr. Snarky Pants, what is your response to the human suffering caused by the loss of these unemployment benefits?
Know what's funny? Used to be that when I would log in here to post factual statements about Barack Obama's dishonesty, three or four of you Obamists would obediently respond with a batch of Obama-approved talking points that were not rooted in any fact whatsoever.
Now? Nothing. It's as though you Obamists are giving up. I don't blame you. You're tired. Nothing's working for the guy. The record speaks for itself. People are reaching conclusions. You know?
Is your snarky bullshit on this blog. I don't know about you, but I have to work and cannot be responding to posts by some GOPer stooge every hour of the day.
How about you answer the question instead of changing the subject to Obama. Don't you think its odd that a party that is subjecting millions of Americans to needless suffering in the pretense of balancing the budget is now willing to support a measure that would create a budget hole 22 times larger?
Oh, one last thing. Obama's been in office 18 months. He was inherited a situation that pro wrestler turned politican Jesse Ventura said he wouldn't wish on his worst enemy, a situation created by 8 years of GOP nonsense. Please tell me how the record "speaks for itself?"
Like you and your dutiful, rote teabag-wingnut-tin-foil-hat kook talking points, you don't bray back.
Obama has accomplished more good things for the country in such a short time than the GOP could ever hope to do, it's amazing.
All that you wingnutz can do is throw shit, and say Hell No, which gets the media's attention, but in the long run, the truth will prevail, and your party, bereft of true leaders and ideas for many decades -except for tax cuts for the rich, wars for the military industrial complex- will soon become irrelevant and obsolete.
Enjoy your drunken orgy of no ideas except the lies and crap spewed by your heroes Limbaugh, Beck, Palin and Bachmann.
Begone Satan!
"Wars for the military industrial complex"
Hey, that sounds terrible. We should, like, elect somebody who promises to end the wars. I wish we had done that last time.
What's that? Obama won? Why are we still fighting wars for the "military industrial complex" then? Why are we doing exactly what we were when Dick Cheney was president? (Everyone knows Bush was just a stooge.)
"I don't believe Barack Obama is exhibiting hypocrisy, it's merely campaign promises bumping up against political reality."
Best quote ever, Nick. Seriously, best ever. "Yeah, guy just said a bunch of stuff during the campaign that people believed but now the campaign's over so it's time to get real." You have made my point. Unwittingly, of course.
Of course George W. Bush said a bunch of stuff during the campaign that he didn't follow through on. That's why he's so unpopular. Duh.
And now Barack Obama's not following through on a bunch of stuff he said during the campaign. That's why he's becoming so unpopular. Duh.
Barack Obama is a liar. Like the rest of them. He's just an average, run-of-the-mill politician. What I'm saying is that if you're going to indict the rest of them for 'hypocrisy', acknowledge your guy's hypocrisy, too.
You will not. You are too obedient.
Again Value Added, you aren't answering the question, just spaming more nonsense all over the blog. Is this how GOPers believe debate should go? I have to answer your questions, but you don't have to answer mine?
Answer the question. What is your response to refusing unemployment benefits for millions of Americans to avoid adding to the deficit, while supporting extending tax cuts for the wealthy that would blow a twenty-two times larger hole in the budget?
If you don't answer this time, I'll have to assume that you aren't interested in debating, only in spamming nonsense all over BSB. Actually, I've already assumed that, but it'll be confirmed and I'll ban you.
Answer: We should cut taxes and cut spending so that taxes on workers, investors and businesses are lower and so that the deficit doesn't grow. Are you really of the belief that there is no room for cuts in the federal budget?
Pretty simple, Nick. Plus, I already agreed with you that Jon Kyl is a hypocrite. I don't know where else to go from there. You won't dare say that Barack Obama is a hypocrite. Iraq. Gitmo. Deficit. No tax hikes on middle class. No individual mandate for health care. No lobbyists. Transparency. And so forth.
Now, get back to obeying Barack Obama. And it's OK if you "ban" me. In fact, I dare you. Ban me.
BSB readers, let it be known that if you do not obey Barack Obama, if you dare to present any thought other than that which confirms the Democrats-good-Republicans-bad-no-matter-what narrative, you will not be permitted to present that thought here. If you dare to point out (with facts, no less) that Barack Obama has not lived up to his promises, there is no room for you here.
Please, Nick. Ban me. It would be awesome. And it would be the obedient thing to do. You are a very obedient person.
Nick, That threat to ban me is hilarious, on second thought.
Did I use profanity or make some kind of inappropriate racial or ethnic comment? Of course not.
Did I malign anyone personally or offend somebody's religious sensibilities? No.
Did I link to some kind of porn site or post graphic images of violence to this blog? Absolutely not.
What did I do? I disagreed. And I pointed to undeniable truths to support my claims.
For this, you threaten to ban me. Please do it. Please. That would be absolutely hilarious. And it would make crystal clear that this goofy blog is nothing more than a place for Democrats to get together and talk about how awesome Democrats are and how much Republicans suck. No pretense of high-mindedness or high-level economic or sociopolitical analysis. Just ObamaRulz, BushMcCainRomneyPalinEtcDrulz.
Ha. Ha. Ha.
