Franklin County Board of Elections Pulls A Major Bullshit Move

2010 Buckeye - Posted on 03 March 2008

I'm generally reluctant to call out Democrats so openly or so quickly, but I have to ask: what the hell were the Democrats on the Franklin County BoE thinking giving incompetent former director Matthew Damschroder a 10 month consulting contract??

Dave at Progress Ohio picked up this story from the Columbus Dispatch first, but I feel it warrants a comment here. The BoE replaced Damschroder as director with Democrat Denny White (thank god) at a meeting over the weekend. They then tried to hand Damschroder a spot as deputy director, but SoS Brunner said that was a no-no. So instead, they gave him an $11,000 per month consulting contract that lasts for the next 10 months. SERIOUSLY?

Damschroder is an incompetent GOP elections official, plain and simple. He has never once properly trained his poll workers on ID requirements for voting, and there is serious concern that they don't know what they are doing for tomorrow either. In fact, from a field report I got earlier, Obama lawyers are already seriously concerned and the majority of voting hasn't even started yet. I haven't been able to verify this, but supposedly the poll workers who were working at the BoE for early voting were either confused or incorrect about voting requirements. That doesn't bode well for the rest of the county tomorrow.

But no...he definitely deserves $11,000 per month for "consulting." Or you could spend the money to train poll workers...just a thought.

Where the HELL is former Ohio Democratic Party chairman and Deputy Director Dennis L. White? Denny, what the hell is this crap? You gave a GOP hack like Damschroder an $11,000 a month consulting contract? I just don't get this at all.

Didn't Denny resign from his ODP Chair position amid much controversy and chaos that certainly resembled someone being forced out of his job? Who had the brilliant idea to dump Denny into the BOE?

Just about all the leadership of the Cuyahoga Co BOE was replaced (including Dems).  The same type of action needs to happen at the Franklin Co BOE to ensure that Dingy Denny doesn't harm the BOE like he did the ODP.

What the hell.

Word is that Damshroder was canned because the SOS discovered he was going to slow down the vote count in an attempt to embarass her tomorrow. They kept Damshroder because noone else knows how to run the place, (Hint D-team: I think Denny can handle it, but the consulting contract wouldn't be necessary if the Deputy Director was paying attention.)

SOS is planning a huge audit next week of the Franklin County vote count to verify results. Big concern over the absentee vote count which may already be subject to some irregularities.

Could there be prosecutions if Damshroder intended to slow down the count?

Denny White is at best an expert at baffling people with bullshit.  The Franklin Co BOE contracted Damshroder because Denny White doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. Why else would SOS, from same party as Denny White, be "planning a huge audit next week of the Franklin County vote count to verify results." Because Brunner, like every other Ohio Dem, absolutely knows that Denny White is a blubbering idiot.
There are some real gems as clerks down at the Franklin Co. BOE. I just hope that they're not affected by any of this. We've got some hard workers down there, and they're helpful and nonpartisan. Keep up the good work, BOE Staff. Good luck tomorrow.

Tell me another one.

Just like Denny White's computer got stolen from his former ODP office just before he resigned (got forced out) as ODP Chair.

So, how is it that an incompetent AND corrupt Democrat will be so great at running the BOE instead of a corrupt but COMPETENT Republican?

Denny White is full of malarkey.  Always has been and always will be.

BTW, the BOE clerks are far from being "nonpartisan" and if ReggieB truly believes they are, he's got a hole in his head.

At 5:30 A.M. I dropped a friend off at the polling place and there were already lines forming with Obama supporters! Its raining, its cold, and people are so ready for change it doesn't matter! This is sure to be the primary of a lifetime! Let the revolution begin!

Here is the new "attack" for those of you that didn't get it Obama ties same-sex issues to Jesus' Sermon on Mount Democrat maintains famous speech by Christ 'more central than obscure passage in Romans' Posted: March 03, 2008 11:35 pm Eastern With voting just hours away in "Super Tuesday II," some remarks by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama linking same-sex relationships to Jesus' famous Sermon on the Mount are raising some eyebrows in the Christian community. During a Sunday campaign stop in Nelsonville, Ohio, Pastor Leon Forte of Grace Christian Center in Athens, Ohio, asked the Illinois senator to address social concerns. "Your campaign sets a quandary for most evangelical Christians," Forte said. "They believe in the social agenda that you have. They have a problem with what the conservatives have laid out as the moral litmus test about who is worthy and who is not." As part of a lengthy videotaped response, Obama referred to the speech by Jesus found in the Gospel of Matthew, as well as some anti-homosexuality statements made by the apostle Paul which he called "obscure": I will tell you that I don't believe in gay marriage, but I do think that people who are gay and lesbian should be treated with dignity and respect and that the state should not discriminate against them. So, I believe in civil unions that allow a same-sex couple to visit each other in a hospital or transfer property to each other. I don't think it should be called marriage, but I think that it is a legal right that they should have that is recognized by the state. If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans. That's my view. But we can have a respectful disagreement on that. D
Phill (like Kline, no?)...I'm talking about a few very specific clerks. There's only one that I've ever had a problem with. Maybe you dealt with that one?
