Fisher for Senate website launches; Brunner has nearly two-week lead on online fundraising
Tim Russo and I have been watching this URL for the past couple of days, and sure enough, it's the Fisher for Senate campaign website. It's as basic and generally uninformative as Brunner's webpage current is. We know both will flesh out a meatier website that's targeted to persuading voters rather than gathering initial supporters and online donors later.
That said, you can at least find Brunner's candidacy announcement on her website. I've yet to see any, ANY, footage of Fisher's campaign announcement. In fact, I don't know if a single newspaper ran a picture from it over a file photo of Fisher alongside a file photo of Brunner.
Like Brunner, Fisher is using ActBlue to do his online fundraising. Fisher's ActBlue account, however, has been up longer than his campaign website as I found it last week. Therefore, Tim Russo owes the Fisher campaign a huge apology for publicly attacking them for not raising any money online. That's simply wasn't true. Lee Fisher has raised money online before today. In fact, he's raised exactly $1.
Over the last two weeks, Brunner has raised over $7k. While that doesn't sound like much, at that pace, it's entirely possible that Brunner could raise $500k to $1 million online alone (especially when you figure that donations will expeditionally increase over time before they drop off as the election is still 15 months away.)
It also puts Brunner as one of the top U.S. Senate candidates fundraising on ActBlue that are running for election next year.
So it's nothing to sneeze at. Especially when you consider that David has raised more money online for the Senate Nominee Fund than Lee Fisher has.

And we'll all be watching the numbers as the only indication of the financial mojo of these candidates until the first FEC report is due at the end of the month.
