First CNN Exit Polling - Ice storm might matter

Tim Russo - Posted on 04 March 2008

Only number that mattered in their 5.34 report was the age gap.   Obama wins voters under 30, 65-34.  Hillary wins voters 60+, 67-31.

The ice storm is really gonna depress that 60+ demographic.

Foul weather is more likely to dissuade casual voters. Casual voters are new registrants, infrequent voters, and younger people ... Obama's marginal demographic. 60+ Ohio voters have gone to the polls for years and "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these...." voters from casting their vote for whomever they intend.

Of course, I don't have a crystal ball. I also [no longer] have a horse in this race.

According to ABC, independants are 20% of the Democratic vote today, and I'm not sure about Republicans. I saw in one Republcan precinct in Geauga County that Democratic ballots were twice as popular as Republican ballots. Also, turnout is down in union households, but up among women. Change is also supposedly a big factor for Obama, but not as big as in other states. This is going to be razor thin.
a lot have probably already voted. I don't know what effect the weather will have. I wish we had yesterday's weather.
