Exit Polls Thread #1

Administrator - Posted on 04 March 2008

I've been hitting refresh on my google news and blog searches for "ohio exit polls" for the last hour as CNN teased me each 15 minutes that they were coming. I've also been begging everyone I've ever known on a presidential campaign to send them my way. So far no luck. But here's what the National Review Online is reporting (ugh, I know, I hate to link there):

This is interesting. One of my sources has gotten two sets of exit poll results. It's unclear whether this is different pollsters or, I suspect, different times of day.

For the first set, Obama is up by 2 percent in Ohio, Hillary is up by 2 percent in Texas, Hillary is up by 3 percent in Rhode Island and Obama is up by a 2 to 1 margin in Vermont.

The second set is similarly close - Hillary up by 2 percent in Ohio, the two Democrats tied in Texas, Obama ahead by 2 percent in Rhode Island and a similar 2 to 1 margin in Vermont.

You'll hear more as I learn more.

And MyDD has this:

Vermont: Obama 67, Clinton 33
Ohio: Obama 51, Clinton 49
Texas: Obama 51, Clinton 49
Rhode Island: Clinton 49, Obama 49

So who the heck knows. Back to F5.

I'm jumping in the car to head to Pickwick and Frolic to watch the results live from the Obama victory party. I'll be online as results come out. See ya in a few (if you're at Pickwick and Frolic make say you say "howdy").

No source, no MOE, no confidence numbers, no sample sizes. 2 % spread means nothing. I hate to say it, but the drudge headline "deadlocked" is accurate.
