Ever wonder who lobbies Matt Naugle's personal attack machine?

You may know sooner than you realize.

As you may recall, Tim Russo from Blogger Interrupted was about to start a new radio show, "Blog Talk," at CWRU's college radio station.  Matt Naugle decided to mess with Tim's personal life, and contacted the university to use Tim's five-year old felony sex conviction as a means to throw him off the air.

When Tim was suspended, Naugle was the first to break the story bragging:

I sincerely don’t enjoy writing about him, as he is such a disgusting person. But I don’t want to have him hurt any more children, so I will continue going after Tim Russo of Blogger Interrupted.

Recently, I reported that Tim Russo’s Facebook account was shut down.

Naugle claimed personal responsibility for Russo's Facebook account being shut down.

Now, word is coming in that the Student Affairs office of Case Western Reserve University has temporarily suspended Russo from his radio show on WRUW pending an investigation.

CWRU is one of Ohio’s finest institutions of higher education, and even though Case students may be too old for Tim’s liking, he should have absolutely no platform on the public airwaves.

Maybe by getting Tim off the radio and internet, and thus denying the psychopath the attention he craves, it can serve as a tiny portion of the additional punishment that our criminal justice system should have provided.

After first claiming that the WRUW was part of his campaign about to "continue going after Tim Russo," Naugle later tried to backpeddle from taking any responsibility for kicking Tim off the air.

Mysteriously, Tim's video about the McCain rally in Cleveland was pulled from YouTube, supposedly because it was "inappropriate content."  Judge it for yourself.

Tim has two problems essentially, and both of them are a large part of his making.  One, five years ago he became a felony sex offender (although he was only convicted of a felony of a fifth degree, the lowest level of felonies, and was sentenced to only one year of probation given his otherwise clean record and the fact that the court found he posed no threat to the public safety, something people conveniently forget in the sensationalistic nature of his conviction.) The other is:  Tim is an ass.  He's knows it.  He knows he has a tendency to burn bridges before he crosses them.

During the primary, Tim and I were almost at each other throats.  When he started his own blog, he came out of the gate to attack me... personally.  He disagrees with me (and the Obama campaign's) strategy to hit SEO hard to starve McCain of any political oxygen in Ohio.  You'd be hard press to find any one on this side of the political blogging spectrum who has been in the crosshairs of Timothy Russo than M.E.  Which is why I'm sure Tim is shocked to see that it's ME, and noone else that is reporting this:

Today, Tim Russo is fighting back.  His attorney, Scott Pullins (yes, you read this right), sent a letter to Matt Naugle, Ken Blackwell, the Buckeye Institute, Human Events, YouTube, Facebook, and others notifying them this:

Please be advised that through the court process known as "discovery" we intend to examine all of your records, notes, letters, documents and writings concerning "Tim Russo", "Blogger Interrupted", "Blog Talk", "Right Angle Blog", "Naugblog" and any other material concerning or related to the above. This not only includes paper writings and records but also consists of electronic, taped and computerized writings as well. These records further include computer files, emails and faxes. We consider all of this information to be important evidence that should be preserved. We ask that you please take immediate steps to preserve such information.

Therefore, please do not destroy, erase or over-write any writings or documents, regardless of physical form or type, that, in any manner, pertain to these subjects. We would ask that if you have a policy involving the periodic destruction of such information that you suspend the policy immediately in so far as it pertains to the subject information. Please be advised that merely opening a computer file or email messages will alter and obliterate important information.

Tim wants to know exactly who is behind the attempt to politically silence him, and he and his attorney believe the answer lies within Matt Naugle's computer.  I have to admit, I'm more than curious to learn what Pullins and Russo can learn from Naugle's computer.  Naugle has admitted that he's ground zero for information about people who are trying to silence Russo.

Naugle claims he's doing what he'd done because he wants to "protect children" from Russo's crime.  Never mind that it's five years ago, and I don't know too many children who work at college radio stations.  Never mind that Russo has never hurt a child.  It's a cop out to say this has anything to do with Tim's criminal history.  It's only the tool that Naulge has been using in his and others campaign to silence Tim's constitutionally protected political speech.

And the only bigger cop out is the utter silence that people on our side our justifying because Tim is an ass.  Well, the First Amendment thrives in the presences of asses like Tim.  Popular speech which keeps us comfortable and reassured needs no protection because it's under no attack.  It's the speech of the ass that makes the First Amendment necessary because they challenge our assumptions, force us from our comfort zones, and generates vehment dissent.

Tim is being silenced.  His YouTube video about McCain's campaign event has nothing to do with Tim's past.  And yet, I am the only blogger not name Tim Russo who has mention this disturbing event.

If it had been Jerid, Plunderbund, Jill, Ohio Daily Blog, Scott Pho, or Glass City Jungle that had their political video pulled mysteriously from YouTube, or our website pulled under less than credible reasons, you would hear a collective blogswarm of protests and howling about the First Amendment.  We'd all pull our videos from YouTube in solidarity.  But Tim doesn't get that.  He doesn't get so much a mention from another blog until now.  Tim is pissed about it, but he knows why... he's an ass.

I can't wait to see what he learns from Naugle's computer about who has been trying to silence him by making his life a living hell.  And I wonder how many people are just now realizing that their secret campaign to suppress an individual's political speech is about to be exposed to the sunlight of a public court record.  Glad it's not me.

There are three types of people in world.  Tim is an ass.  Eventually, the rest of the progressive Ohio blogsphere is going to have to decide which they're going to be.  After all, what would you expect us to do if it were you that was being silenced?
