Edwards Takes a Tip from Tim Ryan

Coincidence? Hardly. The line got rave reviews from the Concord Monitor a day before this townhall, so I assume Senator Edwards picked it up.\
Honestly, that's a sign of a hardworking press team.
Well... Tim Ryan sure is cool... but

As both he and Edwards referred to it the quote actually comes from Ghandi. I like Congressman Ryan, but it isn't his quote. Also it could be DNC talking points, DCCC, DSCC or any liberal handbook. It's nice, but it's a famous quote, sort of like "I feel your pain", "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself," "We win; they lose" "Ich bin ein Berliner," or "Bring 'em on". Other than the last two that I couldn't resist putting in there, quotes can get repeated over and over again because they touch people.
Democrats, if they truly want to be apart from the republicans who they detest so strongly, in part to the tactics of revisionism and tunnel vision that have enabled the current political climate of today, should remember that in order to have something better, they need to be something better, for example, always giving credit where it's due... now if I could only think of a quote that encapsulates that...
Maybe I'll call Tim Ryan or John Edwards and see if they have any ideas...
The point about the speech, though ...

... was not pretending the quote was his own, but the fact that he recently made the meaning of the quote his own.
And the clip of Edwards imitating Ryan was cute, even if the quote was been a springboard in Edwards stump speeches as he was appearing at rallies and fundraisers for Democrats across the country in 2006.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they attack.

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they attack you, then you win."
This is another famous quote from great freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi of India. This quote definitely applies to both John Edwards and Tim Ryan. Both of them have been ignored, laughed at, and attacked but eventually the substance of what they are saying will win. Both can be future presidents and will be great at it too.
What's the bleeping line?

Uhhm.... so what the hell is the damn line?
Some of us out here don't have good video capability, or access the Net from places such as libraries or cafes where audio is frowned upon. It's really frustrating when folks (not picking on blogs here... cnn.com is one of the worst offenders) don't take 60 seconds to do a text summary of the multimedia.
Grrr. End of rant. Thanks for listening.

Not only that, Edwards is prescient ...
Not only did he adopt Tim Ryan's words the day after Ryan spoke ... I saw a vlog with Edwards saying those words in the first half of last year ... more than half a year before my man Tim Ryan said them.
That's how powerful my Congressman's speaking presence is ... people quote him months before he even says it.
Man oh man, we gotta get a way for this man to take Lil' V's Senate seat in 2010.
