Dann Resignation Statements

After the jump you can find a collection of the various statements coming in on Marc Dann's resignation.

“We are glad Marc Dann did the right thing today and removed himself from office. He saw that Democrats in the Ohio House were serious about our promise to pursue an impeachment process to remove him if he remained. We made a vow to the people of Ohio to fight corruption – whatever the source – and we have followed through. We believe it is now time to move forward from this situation and allow the office of the Attorney General to continue its good work protecting consumers and representing the peoples’ best interests.”

-- State Representatives Dan Dodd (D-Hebron), Jennifer Garrison (D-Marietta) and Mark Okey (D-Carrollton)

“Attorney General Marc Dann did the honorable thing  by resigning today. This decision will allow  the important work of the Attorney General’s office to continue without  the distraction caused by recent  events.

“Today is a sad day in many ways. I think it is  appropriate for us all to acknowledge the personal pain and anguish that  these events have caused the Attorney General, his family members, his  staff and others.

“Marc has accomplished much during the relatively  short time he has occupied the office of Attorney General.  The Attorney General and his  professional staff have done meaningful work to promote environmental and  consumer protection, foreclosure prevention, and health care  accessibility.

"I’m hopeful that today’s announcement will allow  the professional staff at the Attorney General’s office to continue the  important work in these and other areas.  As I have said in the past, the  office of the Attorney General is more important than any one person  because in many cases it is all that stands between the people and the  powerful.”

-- Governor Ted Strickland

“I joined my fellow Democrats in calling for Marc Dann to resign, and today, he did the right thing for him and his family by stepping down. I believe he is taking accountability for his conduct. As we have said before, we promised the people of Ohio to end a culture of corruption that existed in the past, and we are fulfilling that promise by cleaning our own house. Action must now be taken quickly and responsibly to find a qualified successor to lead the office and continue the important work being done on behalf of the people of Ohio.”

-- Ohio House Democratic Leader Joyce Beatty (D-Columbus)

“Sexual harassment and its cover-up can’t be tolerated anywhere and it’s about time he resigned.”

-- Mary Jo Kilroy

Good riddance

What an embarrassment.

Talk about, like, awkward....

Its a bit late to try to look human.

-- Former Ohio Attorney General, Marc Dann (D-Youngstown)

"It is now my highest priority to focus on my family.....I am anxious to get home to my wife.....my son...my daughter.....who is unfortunately on a class trip to Washington...so I won't get to see her until until Friday."
*Dann smiles*
*Strickland remained stoic - unaffected*
*Dann's wife seemed....absent*

Just more of an insight to Dann's twisted mind. Todays press conference is no place to bring the mention of his loyal family. Complete arrogance, because he has shown no loyalty except to his Youngstown cronies and his pecker. No loyalty to the people of Ohio, his fellow democrats, his employees in the AG office and to his fellow attorneys. If there is sufficient evidence he should be disbarred.

"How can I help you?"

A day after resigning, Marc Dann now helping his wife run her business

On his first day as former attorney general, Dann walked two miles from his home in Liberty Twp. to his new job, helping his wife, Alyssa Lenhoff, run Zesty Dishes.

He took orders, packed dishes and pitched in, according to Mike Harshman, Dann's long-time friend.

(CLOSE ENOUGH!)

That was *some* orgasm. Now what?

The ravening pack of wolves, tracking their prey from the slightest trickle of blood, had their day. The way this entire fiasco was handled I fully expect to find solid evidence of a contract hit or other nefarious underworld dealing originating from the bowels of the AG office. This was pathetic, and I'm not referring here to Dann's bumbling of what should have been a cause for internal housecleaning and an act of contrition with the confessional curtain thrown back. That "deer in the headlights" expression on Dann's face is exactly the same reaction anybody would have after being hounded in such a manner by their "friends." Take note, all ye who would run for public office under the banner of the ODP. Instead of trying to win voters with a bold progressive agenda the ODP is playing fear-based public perception games in an election year. Never mind that Miller guy in the state senate. Nobody cares about money in Ohio. We can't allow for anything that ties a Democrat to SEX, unless said sex potentially leads to procreation, which as two-thirds of the rednecks in this state made abundantly clear in the '04 elections, is mandatory. Bring on the next party hack. Spayed or neutered preferred.
