bank on it. that's the only real takeaway from today's blogger conference call, other than the usual Fernsy idiocy.

I don't know why i bother with these conference calls.....ever.

Now that the Senate race has undeniably started, it's time for us to kick things over to campaign mode. That, of course, means fundraising.

The pitch:

Instead of fundraising for a specific candidate, right now I've opted for for a nominee fund. This means that all donations made to this fund will be handed over to the campaign that wins the Democratic primary.

My reasoning for this is simple:

A.) It's neutral.

B.) With no likely Republican primary, the Republican will be able to cut back on spending early on. Hopefully we can pool enough cash to provide a decent second wind to the Democratic nominee.

How it'll work:

Like we did back in the '08 election, I've set a pretty reasonable goal to start out with. In fact, it's actually less than some single donations we received then.

This goal is hardly final however. When it's reached, we'll double it to $500. When we reach $500, we'll bump it up to $1,000 (an so on).

So what do you say guys and gals, think we can reach the first goal by Monday?
