Ohio McCain Rep Sues Secretary Of State Over Absentee Ballot Forms

Hamilton Co McCain Chair Greg Hartmann is the latest Ohio Republican out to blame all the worlds problems on Jennifer Brunner, this time it’s those badly designed McCain campaign absentee ballot request forms.

As you can see in the picture here, the McCain form includes a check box at the top asking if the person is a qualified elector and wants an absentee ballot. While the state of Ohio does require this information, they don’t say any thing about a checkbox. Most of the time this information is just included above the signature line in such a manner that signing the form signals agreement.

Now these forms are being turned in with the checkbox unchecked and have to be rejected.

Rather than work to fix this mistake, Ohio Republican leadership is demanding that the forms be accepted as is and are filing this frivolous lawsuit against our Secretary of State.

Am I the only person that remembers Ken Blackwell rejecting voting applications based on the weight of the paper they were printed on? And now the people who backed him claim this is unfair? Seriously guys, the first step is admitting you have a problem.
