Working newsroom? Plain Dealer? The only time I deign to read that rag is when it's left open in front of me by the previous person who sat at my donut shop stool. Even then I usually just flip to the comics, but the PD even has a way of taking the humor out of those!

BTW, the PD production and distribution staff would do a better job at the editorial desk.

The building on Tiedeman is for production and distribution. The Plain Dealer newsroom and office building is the big building at Superior & E. 18th in downtown Cleveland that says "Plain Dealer" in large letters across the facade and has full-length front windows that expose a working newsroom to anyone driving or walking down Superior Avenue.

Today's Cleveland Plain Dealer includes an editorial that criticizes Gov. Ted Strickland and other Ohio Democrats of being too hasty to rush into impeachment proceedings against Marc Dann, saying that:

Given their ham-fisted politicking throughout the Marc Dann mess, Ohio Democrats might have advised John Kennedy this way during the Cuban Missile Crisis: "Let's nuke ourselves before the other side can. That'll show 'em!"

The PD probably should have checked with the folks at the other end of the building before writing that. I know, its a big building or at least it looks that way from I-480. But from what I'm hearing, the PD amongst other Ohio newspapers (including the Dispatch and Dayton Daily) are fervently working towards bringing to light more substantive allegations of misdeeds by Marc Dann himself. I've heard rumors of what they might be working on, but nothing substantive enough to post. However, I know they received some tips and there's lots of midnight oil being burned right now.

Marc Dann may have thought he survived the initial blow, however, I have a feeling that this calm period right now is the eye of the storm, and the eye is going to pass pretty soon.

UPDATE: This story from today's Dispatch states that the FBI may investigate Dann's involvement with "skills games" figures.
